How to unlock the The real challenge achievement in Achilles: Legends Untold - Definitive Guide

This can be done on NG+ which is how I done it

once you loaded up NG+ save and exit, got to difficulty and then go back to your game, as long as you have not killed a Boss I think this works but I changed it as soon as I started again

Or you can just change the difficulty in the main menu before starting the NG+.

How hard is hero difficulty, I assume its easier on new game+.

I found it easier than my first playthrough on the lower difficulty level.

This achievement relates to the pre-patch version which only had two difficulty options. I started on ‘Challenge’ and then changed to ‘Achilles must die’. I will update if this works for the unlock

*update* Achievements stopped unlocking just prior to finishing the game, so no idea if this will work, best to try to finish starting on the highest difficulty

Beating the game on second highest difficulty 'Challenge' is sufficient.
They did actually update the achievement description to reflect the reworked difficulties.

Hero difficulty is available right from the start, and I wouldn't hesitate to choose it for your first playthrough as the game really isn't that difficult. You also can't change the difficulty when going into NG+ so it's not like you could pick it when you have a stronger character anyway.

It’s not necessary to play the entire game on hard (by the way, the game doesn’t have “Hero” difficulty), I switched the difficulty to “Achilles must die” before Phobos and the trophy dropped.
