How to unlock the Kinglor Carer achievement in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - Definitive Guide

1. How to Start Steady Wings - Part 1

We picked this side quest up from the Fallen Hunter camp located northwest of Hometree in Stoneblade Ridge. It sits on a small island in the middle of The Tangled Lake and east of the large arch. However, this may differ for each player and you can just go straight to Etuwa at Hometree to begin this quest.

2. Wings - Part 1 Walkthrough

Return to Hometree and head to Kinglor Nest at the very top to speak to Etuwa. After the conversation, pick up the Kinglor Queen. You'll be tasked with transporting her to two different locations southwest of Hometree.
While you move her from one place to another, you'll need to be very careful and not raise her stress levels. In the top left corner of the screen, you can see a bar that will show you her stress levels. It will start to fill with red each time you perform an action that stresses the Kinglor Queen.
You need to avoid swimming, combat, riding, or flying. These will quickly increase the Kinglor Queen's stress levels. Running will also increase her stress levels, but will do so much slower, still you'll want to be slow and steady transporting her.

Take the Kinglor Queen to Hunter's Headland
Hometree via Hunter's Entrance and go west from here until you reach the marshy area just before The Threaded River.

You'll find a small pool of water with a tree by itself in the middle. This is where the Kinglor Queen should be placed onto one of the large flowers. Once she's been placed in here and fed, pick her up. From here, you'll be heading further west toward the Glade of Light.

Take the Kinglor Queen near Glade of Light
Cross The Threaded River from the first destination, then go northwest toward The Tangled Lake. The area you're looking for is just before this.

As you're crossing The Threaded River look for some large tree trunks that go off to the west here. If you can climb along one of these, you'll be taken straight to the giant tree where you'll place the Kinglor Queen.

3. Return to Hometree and head to Kinglor Nest at the very top to speak to Etuwa.

4. Repeat the same proccess with mission 2.

5. Return to Hometree and head to Kinglor Nest at the very top to speak to Etuwa.

6. Repeat the same proccess with mission 3.

The “Steady Wings” side quest in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a 3-part side quest that you can pick up along the way.

The first part we picked up from a Na’vi in the Sunshade Silks Na’vi Camp in the center of Rising Spires in the Kinglor Forest. Whether this changes and when unlocks, we're not sure - I assume it's after you've finished with act 1 and moved onto the Upper Plains (again, this is an assumption based on a few things to do with the Kinglor in the campaign’s first act in Kinglor Forest).

The side quest text says, “The kinglor are starting to return to the forest, but too many still linger in the Hometree.” To start the side quest you then have to head to the top of the Hometree and speak to Etuwa, up in the Hometree’s Kinglor Nest.

Steady Wings is basically a three-part side quest that has you walking from the Hometree to various different locations relatively near the Hometree. Yes, you have to walk, as running, combat, flying and swimming will spook the Kinglor and set you back to the beginning (or last in-game checkpoint).

The quest basically has you walking to a small Kinglor nest on a tree, and then walking to a large tree to put the Kinglor in and let them settle into their new home. It's pretty easy going, to be fair, but incredibly dull and slow. If you have guided navigation on, it's a matter of getting from A to B (you can even run as you get closer). If you have exploration navigation on, just make sure you use your Na’vi sense, and stick to the navigational directions. Once you've done part 1, head back to the top of the Hometree for part 2, and so on until you've done part 3 (parts 2 and 3 get longer with more stops, so just be aware of that).

A few notes for those using exploration navigation:

  • In Part 2, the endpoint isn’t actually on Spool Island, it’s actually on the mainland to the north of it - use your Na’vi Sense to see it when you’re a few hundred meters away from the river to spot it.
  • And in Part 3, the new home is north of the split in the Threaded River (a fair distance north of it, in fact). Again, use your Na’vi Sense as you get closer.

As long as you stay out of the water, and don't attack any predators (if you come across any dangerous fauna, just run) you'll be more than okay. Once you've finished Steady Wings - Part 3, you'll unlock the ‘Kinglor Carer’ trophy.
