How to unlock the Locked & Loaded, Good to Go achievement in Battlefield Hardline - Definitive Guide

Edit: YOU MUST BE LEVEL 50 IN GAME BEFORE YOU EVEN ATTEMPT TO START GETTING KILLS THAT COUNT TOWARDS THIS ACHIEVEMENT. Do not attempt this achievement until you are level 50 or above.

So in the newest Betrayal DLC, a new feature has been added to Hardline called the Gun Bench. The Gun Bench can be accessed by clicking on the "Multiplayer" tab. It should be among the multiplayer options.

In the Gun Bench you start out only being able to customize 3 weapons, but the max you can customize after unlocking the other slots is 5.

The way that the customization works is that you can build a gun just like you would normally, but you can change the dot sight to whatever shape or color you want. You can also edit certain gun skins to change how bright or faded the skins are.

To get this achievement you must unlock the other 2 Gun Bench slots. The 4th slot is unlocked by completing an assignment that requires you to customize 1 weapon in the Gun Bench (although you can customize up to three at this point) and then get 100 kills with those Gun Bench guns. The 5th slot is unlocked by having the previously mentioned assignment completed, customizing 4 guns in the Gun Bench, customizing 4 outfits (which is also done in the Gun Bench) and getting 1,000 kills with Gun Bench guns.

Once you have customized a weapon in the Gun Bench, make sure you press start and save and quit.

In order to equip the Gun Bench gun that you customized, enter a match and go to whatever class the weapon is for (such as the UZI being for Mechanics only), and there will be a new option at the top of the gun selection screen that says "Custom 1", "Custom 2" etc. Choose any of your custom weapons and next time you spawn you will have the Gun Bench gun equipped. I would like to warn you though, you cannot edit the gun at all in game, only in the Gun Bench, so make sure the weapon is customized exactly how you want it. If you are not sure if a weapon is customized the way you want it or not, you can try out your customized weapons on the shooting range IN the Gun Bench.

So the first weapon I customized was the UZI which is for the Mechanic class. I built the gun like I already had it before the Gun Bench existed, meaning I did not change the sight to a different shape nor did I choose a skin that could be edited because I assumed that as long as it was a "custom" gun, that it would count my progress. Unfortunately though, upon finishing a bunch of matches I was left with a whopping 0 kills towards the assignment.

I went back into the Gun Bench and changed the skin on the gun to something that is customizable and just moved the "Faded" and "Brightness" bars a little bit from their starting points, and then my kills started counting for the assignment. So make sure that you do something to the gun that is unique to the Gun Bench or the kills are likely not to count. By unique, again I mean either changing the shape of your sight or changing the brightness or fading on a skin that is customizable. The game will tell you if a skin is customizable or not, so there should be no mystery there.

Once you have unlocked the 4th Gun Bench slot, make sure you have 4 guns and outfits customized in the Gun Bench and then you need to get 1000 kills with Gun Bench guns. Once you have done that, the 5th Gun Bench slot will be unlocked. Customize the 5th weapon in the Gun Bench and then simply enter a game and the achievement will unlock.

good Guide so far, but you forgot to mention that you will also need to customize 4 uniforms and Play a match for the assignment unlocking the 5th gunbench slot.

My experience has been that the 100 kills from the first assignment don't carry over to the second. Is that normal for assignments?

Yes, the assignments in Hardline are progressive. There are a large handfull of assignment where you cannot earn progress towards them until you complete another assignment before it. In this case the 100 Gun Bench kill assignment unlocks the other assignment after its been completed. So anything you did prior to the new assignment being unlocked will not have counted for it.

It seems since you can't skin the new crappy sniper rifle that it will not count towards the assignment even if you have it in a custom slot. That is so dumb.

Good guide Ace.
Do you know if the 100 kills have to be from a single weapon, or can it be a combination of custom weapons?

A combination. Any of the 3 custom weapons slots you start out with will work. I only said one in the guide because the first assignment only requests that you customize 1 weapon.

Custom gun kills aren't registering in assignment for me...

Did you alter the gun in terms 9f fading or brightness of your camo? I used the money camo skin and moved the fading and brightness a little.

I got 12 kills and then the kills stopped counting.

It seems you need to put a custom camo on the gun. Not an unlocked one. So any design that has a paintbrush icon on it. Then change some colors.

Fuzzmeister J, I did not experience the same thing that you did. I only had to change the stencil part of a camo. I used the money camo for all 5 of my slots and just faded it a little bit and all of my kills counted. For me the only camos that could actually be paintbrush edited were the first set (the artic snow colored ones) and I did not use those. If anyone who is reading this, is having trouble try using the money camo and fading the gun a bit.

If your custom gun kills stop counting after they already started try this...

So I had 700+ kills registered before mine stopped counting. I figured I'd go into the gun bench to tweak them to see if that would fix it. So when I tried to go to my bench the game wouldn't let me because it didn't detect the betrayal DLC. My DLC was installed on a different hard drive from my game and some times when my power goes out or for random reasons the Xbox doesn't auto detect my external hard drive until I unplug and replug it. Once I did this and the game saw my DLC again my kills started counting again.

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks Jager meister any tips are helpful. It's clear that the kills are a little buggy so any solutions anyone can find are helpful.

No problem. I didn't notice sooner because I was able to still use my custom gun even without the DLC being on my system at the time of the incident... So even if you see them in your loadout, make sure to see if your menu detects the gun bench, otherwise you'll be doing kills with the guns but they won't count.

First thing you should say in your guide is that nothing counts(kills) until you are level 50.You don`t mention that at all.

The lack of info regarding the level 50 requirement( needed to count kills as mentioned above) makes me want to give you the worst feedback ever.

@Dan vasNormandy mate this solution is almost 7 years old. I'm pretty sure I wrote this guide the same day the dlc dropped that added this. At the time I was already over level 50 so I never even realized that was a requirement. If your time was wasted I'm sorry, but it's a bit of an overreaction to be that upset about a 7 year old solution or to imply I even knew you had to be level 50.

I forgot to mention that. Most of the ww 1 and ww2 weapons cannot be edited in and way. I was disappointed as much as you were.

Is it possible that you equipped the gun on one side and the when you switched to the other you forgot to equip it again? I know I did that a few times. You have to equip it for cops and criminals.
