While the score achievements can be done in any mode, I would highly recommend Survival Mode (or Endless mode, I forget what it is actually called) which will become available once you complete the arcade mode.
In Survival mode, you will face endless waves of enemies with no boss fights.
The mode doesn't seem to get progressively harder as you play.
Just collect powerups and let loose.
I highly recommend focusing on the laser weapon and collecting orbs.
You will undoubtedly get many 1ups in the process.
Keep in mind that the achievements won't actually unlock until the run ends
In fact, when I hit 900,000 points (the highest achievement requirement), I had over 30 lives and had to spend a couple of minutes intentionally dying to finish the round.
Honestly, it shouldn't be too tough.
