How to unlock the King of the Track achievement in Blizzard Arcade Collection - Definitive Guide
I used the code from the other solution from carnagegod, 84FF C0QX 5TJ! I am not that good at racing games and was able to pull this off using a few tips that I hope can help you others that aren't that good at racers as well. Heads up the Definitive Edition you cant save scum the game so be ready to enter that code a few times. Remember if you are doing bad just click in R3 and quit game and load up the game again.
1) I would run the first 7 maps and get a feel for them. What I mean by that is the turns, the jumps, snow piles, and speed boosts. Turns are huge in this game to take advantage of the computers. The jumps are hit and miss in this game and I don't know how many times I drove off the map. Learn how to face your car before you hit the jump. Snow piles slow you down so avoid them if you can. The computers seem to hit them 80 percent of the time. Finally the speed boost, line up with them to fly through the race track. I also noticed in the Definitive Edition that they dont use them that much.
2) I noticed that in the Definitive Edition that its very important that you use the map instead of watching your vehicle. I felt that the game moved really fast and could not react to the corners and turns in time. Remember how I told you to learn the jumps. Well the only time I looked away from the map was when a jump was coming up so I could line myself up so I didn't jump off the map. After the jump I would watch the map again.
3) Make sure to use the A button to drive and the LB and RB to steer. When I would watch the map and learned the controls I could turn with these with ease by just watching the map.
4) Once you get the mechanics mentioned above the goal is to put distance between you and the CPUs so that they dont ram you and shoot you. I eventually learned the maps pretty good and new the turns and the jumps. When I knew I could see a long stretch on the map I would see if there were any CPUs near me. If they were ahead of behind I would attack them to slow them down and sometimes if lucky kill them off to push the distance further.
5) Lastly you need 3200 points to win this achievement. Each race nets the same points. There are 14 races and after the first 7 races it starts over. 400 first, 200 second, and 100 3rd. nothing for last place. The tracks I could do good on was 1,2,3,5,7. I could take first almost every time in those races. So after that I would have 2000 points just in first place. When those maps came back up I would get first place again. Once you have 3200 points no need to play the next races so just hit start and give up to get to the screen that pops the achievement.
It took me a few attempts but after a few trial and error these tips worked for me to get me done with these games. Hope this helps and happy hunting.
