How to unlock the Chef Cook achievement in Disney Dreamlight Valley - Definitive Guide

Best way to get this done is to grow bunch of the same crop (wheat grows super fast) and use the method in the video below, seems to only work at Chez Remy. This can cook hundreds of meals in minutes.

[Text explanation] in cooking menu at Chez Remy's hold left stick to the right to constantly be selecting an ingredient and hit cn_A then cn_start back in forth pretty quickly.

This solution needs more upvotes. Once you get the hang of it, it's very simple. Too me about 10 minutes to get from around 250 to over 900.

I can not get this trick to work anymore following the June update. Can anyone else confirm?

No Crops Solution.

I have the farming achievement and have my farms set up purely for coin-making reasons so in this case, another solution is optimal.

Buy

99 Milk
99 Cheese
99 Eggs
99 Butter.

From Remy (restaurant rat)

Make one Souffle - (one egg / one cheese / one milk / one butter) and then use the same autofill spam.

Sell them all (for around 400 coin profit each) and rinse and repeat till achievement unlocked.

Simples.

Love it! Might as well earn cash while grinding this out. The auto-fill spam (the fastest cooking method) isn't impacted by number of ingredients anyway! smile

In order to cook, you will need a few things: a stove, coal, and an ingredient. Although you can use Mickey's stove, I would recommend pursuing his quest instead. He will take you step by step through the cooking process, including giving you ingredients, a stove, and a recipe. If you just want to grind this out, I suggest cooking the following recipes, with all but one being available in the starting Plaza and Meadow areas:

Crackers- a grain (wheat grows extremely fast)
Grilled veggies/croudites- a single vegetable (need to harvest thousands of veggies for another achievement)
Grilled fish- one fish (easy money if using rare fish)
Hors devors- any herb (grow like weeds everywhere)
Fruit salad- a solitary fruit (best early game energy restore)
Seafood appetizer- 1 seafood (at beach)

P. S. Kristoff from the forest will sell coal for 5 coins after completing his level ten friendship quest. This will require you to have his friendship maxed, complete all of his other friendship quests, unlock Anna as well as Elsa from the Frozen realm, and unlock the Frosted Heights. It may be a lot of work, but you would essentially have unlimited coal then, as long as you sold all the dishes you make.

The problem wasn't ingredients, it's COAL. I kept running out.

COAL is obtained from mining the black veins found along the base of rock walls. I think coal is found by digging, too. Can't remember for sure.

First thumbs up from me.

Also, cooking is required in the game along the way. There are many different Dreamlight tasks that require cooking, including 2, 3, 4 and 5 star meals. So when you get to those, let those meals count by waiting to grind this after the game is finished or near the end. Doesn't hurt to make extra each time while at a stove anyway.

Also, there's a stove in Mickey's house that can be used when starting the game.

Finally, add... Ingredients and coal can be in storage and still be used at the stove, so ingredients don't have to be in the character's inventory.

Having a follower with a mining perk will help with the coal issue. Coal seems to be one of the bonus items they can get you while you're mining. I've got one almost max ranked and I've been getting a decent supply, although I admittedly haven't been rushing this one.

My achievement tracker doesn't seem to want to move for this achievement. Anyone else having tracking issues for most of this game's achievements?

The achievements track and pop only when you turn in the dreamlight quest for that achievement. Had me worried when I upgraded my house, but it popped as soon as I cashed it in.

Note for the Ratatouille Realm: yes plenty of ingredients and no coal use so try to unlock recipes if you want. Just checked and no progress counted for meals made.

I have completed all cooking quests, including cooking 900 meals, but no achievement. I am positive I cooked over 1200 meals at this point.

[Update for Dec 06, 2022 patch] The problem has not yet been corrected. I have contacted the developers, who indicated they are aware of the issue and looking for a solution. As it's tied to an in-game quest, I am not confident it will be corrected. I believe I will need to start a new game. Given the game only allows a single save file, I need to wait till all other achievements have been unlocked. Shame.

Anyone having the same issue as me where no matter what you cook the achievement doesn’t move? I started at 9%, spent 30 minutes and 190 ingredients + coal cooking and it’s still at 9% even though I’ve had to tick off a completed dream light section for cooking x amount of 1 star meals! Very frustrating

The Xbox tracker won’t move/achievement won’t pop until you redeem it in the dreamlight duties page. You’re still making progress just ignore the Xbox tracker

Kristoff's stall does not sell coal. He sells softwood, stone, Sand, Snowball, Fabric and Fiber when he's maxed. You have to mine or dig for the coal.

To cook a meal you must you must go to a stove and add ingredients (Fruits, plants, fish ect. ) to discover different meals, each meal will also cost 1 coal which you can get from mining. To get this achievement you must repeat this process 900 times

Here is a list of all the different meals -
