Got it, I checked this morning as well Ultimate and it seems it was the same for me so I’ll add that as confirmed for now.

What a load of crock this achievements is...
So you basically have to grab just 10 of these a day for almost a full year IRL-time. Preposterous.

How have so many people glitched this already???

I want to say I ended up with somewhere around 500-1000 thorns by the time I finished clearing all areas. I agree it's a super small amount for such a big number.

Apparently in the forums people are saying they are doing PC mods to unlock all of these already.

Nobody should have this game 100% yet.

If you don't care about the aesthetics of the Woods or Forgotten Lands I would recommend removing a bunch of the trees/rocks/shrubs/vines in those two biomes to make it much easier/quicker to locate and remove the Night Thorns that spawn there.

Assume this is tied to the Remove small night thorns duty under the Foraging tab, if you want to keep tabs. I'm at 709/1.3K for grade 4. Hopefully more quests will also come that will flood the valley with these again.

I really hope they add a bunch with the toy story and lion king add ons.

I’m assuming they will bring a whole new area with a bunch of new things to clean up 🧼

I was hoping the thorns would just infest if I stopped playing, but I guess i'll still check back every day and play for 4 minutes until the next content drip what a bummer.

They can save up, but you may need to log in that day for them to spawn. Also, they might spawn in the same area meaning you lose out on the 10 thorns from the last day. Only like 180 days to go. 2 weeks left for the convos.

I can confirm that you need to at least log, otherwise they will not add up.

So if my math checks out, the people that have this achievement cheated.

Probably, however it may be possible to trigger via offline date manipulation, although that would be tedious as heck, and day 1 religiously playing gamers are only around the 1300 checkpoint as I write this(im at 1060ish and have been missing a lot +was not an early access)

I've not seen any new large batches in the latest update yet. Still just 10 a day.

thats correct - there is still only 10 a day atm - only way we would see more is if they added another biome( but that might not happen till next year sometime) there are 10 people who unlocked this lol which is only possible if they cheated lol again this something the TA needs to look into i guess

It shows the tracker for the first duty you do after you turn on the game. Mine was at 1635 today. No way anyone has this.

I dont know what going on with the game, but i havent played in six days, and not a single Thorn has spawned in any biome...

You didn't log in the game, hence no new spawns.

Unfortunately, I am only at 1.6k night thorns. Based on the most recent update to this solution, I am approximately 400 behind where I should be. I don't know if it was laziness or greed, but I did waste many days at the maximum night thorns in my valley because I wished to save my night thorns for the star path event tasks. I'm now committed to doing them every day but barring any changes it'll take me until the end of May to get this achievement.

The guide's estimate is a bit high. I should hit 1900 today and have missed fewer than 20 I think. That's still 110 days away, then I'll wait until characters are added. I find myself not interested in over half of the even pass unlocks.

Night Thorns reset at 5:00 am your local time, just fyi, if the previous day's thorns have been removed.

I really wish there was a way to earn more night thorn removals. I didn't start playing this game really hardcore until after most people and I am only at 1200 of 3000. 10ish a day is ridiculous. At this rate I will get this achievement (barring now other issues or updates) around August 14! Hopefully they make a change even if it is lowering the number needed for the achievement.

on pc you can move your clock forward 24hrs to make more spawn, can repeat a handful of times to get chunks done at a time. Haven't tested it thoroughly but noticed it was possible

Today i found 20. Is it possible?

I found a few in another area after clearing the usual 10 that spawn, just assumed I lost count and missed them on a previous day.

You get another 10 if you log in and don't pick them up and the next day they don't spawn in the same area.

DO NOT time skip. It messes up the game pretty bad.

2400 thorns as of today. My wife plays this mostly and were getting into the homestretch. For a long time she played everyday but now its almost 3 days

Does anyone else's achievement counter seem to be glitched? My in-game Dreamlight Duty said 2.9k out of 3k, but my Achievement says 44% done.. Nervously awaiting what will happen once my Dreamlight Duty completes.

The tracker is for the duty progress and won't go up unless you go up a tier in the duty. 44% will be all you see until 100.

Edit: Just popped it fine have 44% tracking before getting my last 7!

As mentioned in other thread about this game, the achievement is linked to the Dreamlight Duty. You will not see correct percentage on the achievement tracker, just the amount associated to the already unlocked subdivision of the Dreamlight Duty. This is the same for all the other achievements.
If you want thorns to stack, just log in daily. At the best case scenario, every 8 days you will have 80 thorns to remove (10 per area). Though as more areas are filled, I am not sure the game will actually constantly check which areas are still free, and it may just skip a day if an area is already filled instead of finding one free.
The most I personally stacked was four days and I had the 40 thorns in 4 different areas. I will not risk more just for an experiment. Maybe someone that already as the achievement can make it for us.

You can get more than 10 per area; I stacked for 2 weeks before and had 40 in my plaza alone. I’m unsure what the cap is and I would assume there is a cap to worry about, but your daily thorns can definitely spawn in the same areas as thorns already existing :)

Can someone confirm that the daily Thorns continue to spawn after the final main story quest? (released in the recent June update) I've cleared 2.5k and I would hate to mess it up now.

I've given up. The game is too boring to keep going after the rest of the achievements.

Thorns do continue to spawn 10 a day...the endgame mission gets you some bonus thorns as you make your way through the portal. Those bonus thorns do not respawn, unfortunately, so the grind is real.

I think we can all agree.... This achievement sucked! 489 hours to get.

By far the worst achievement I've ever gotten. Glad to have it done

I wanted to restart the game because I thought it would keep track but I am actually too scared to do it, feels like something that would not keep, but I'm at my wits end with thorns

Yeah doubt reset would work.. Certainly is a long old grind for this one 😔

I was down to only 25 more days finally, but with their new "ressource spawn" update I was only able to find 8 instead 10 Night Thorns today... which would mean it would me take another 32 days now instead. *sigh*

Yeah they lowered the spawn rate. Still a daily chore but now a longer daily chore

they managed to do that, but not fix the invert why bug where I have to reset it every single time I boot the game. It's been there since day one

They obviously forgot the zero and meant 80

they don't seem to realize that this won't keep people playing so that they give them money, it just makes people stop playing.

If you've purchased the expansion, A Rift in Time, you can make this achievement much easier to manage. Simply build and place a basic Ancient Machine Vacuum in each area of Dreamlight Valley. Every day, all you'll need to then do is check in on it every 24 hours and it'll automatically group all the Night Thorns so you can harvest them in one action. Note, the total is now 8 per day instead of the original 10.

I have 20 thorns left to go. This is possibly the worst achievement ever. And to make it worse they reduced the spawn rate from 10 per day, to 8 per day.

I don´t get that they reduced the spawn rate! Pain!

i'm surprised no one else discovered this, if you press Y to go into the menu, go over to the furniture placing helicopter review and you can use that to spot the thorns

Well that was a chore

doesnt sure if anyone wrote it before, but you can enter your friends valley too to get them. Also if you have a second acc and a second console you could invite your mainacc to harvest all of the thorns at the beginning. thats a lot. But you have to play wirh the second acc to the quest where you van invites friends to your valley.

For the friends one does that mean u could technically get 16 each day instead of the 8?

With the new update I think it's bug, cause the challenge is block at 20 and you can't collect and valid the challenge. Anyone have this bug?

Yeah I also have this bug, I was at 2070 yesterday, picking up my first thorn today showed 2071/20 on the notification, and it shows as 2K/20 on the Dreamlight challenges page. Clicking collect does nothing. I really hope I haven't wasted all these months of grinding this.

I can confirm I have the same bug it's stuck at 17000 out of 20

Hopefully they add more zones/areas etc or increase the amount that respawn, otherwise this is going to take a while

If you need to miss a day, it looks like thorns do add up. I wouldn't ignore it too long since there are not a lot of zones to fill up. You can get 20 every other day instead of 10 a day. You still need a lot of daily logs for the conversations, so this may only help later.

Yep mine shows as 1.3K/1.3K. Playing most days since day 1 and the Scar update did add a few more thorns in the mine, but hardly a massive boost. Once you exceed a 1000 the Dreamlight tracker starts rounding to the nearest 100, so annoyingly you only see the exact number when it decides to pop up in game.

It did spawn before when i hadnt logged in for a couple of days. Always had 10 thorns spawn as a minimum (sometimes had 20 or 30), now nothing spawns at all. I have played this game for so many hours that i know about the 24h cycle and the spawn cycle, something has changed, or my biomes have no room for new drops due to all the gems/ore etc on the ground, LOL

Yes, thorns continue to spawn after you finish the story.

It takes literally 2 minutes every day... you guys are making it seem way worse than it really is

My last one. It's dumb with the official
launch they didn't reduce the achievement or increase the spawn rate. It's going to take me at least 3 months to pick enough of them.

aaand done with the achievement! So much time investment for such a little ratio. Removing the thorns doesn't take long, but booting up the game to rarely see something new, doing something very boring to see the number slowly going upwards makes this one of my most hated achievements i ever earned. I'm happy to be not counted as one of the active playerbase anymore.

People are still unlocking it so hopefully it works still. I'm at 2.8k/20

Thankfully this is just a display issue. When I got to 3000 it still displayed as 3K/20, but it had the red dot to show it was ready. I was able to click it and it granted 500 Dreamlight and popped the achievement.

Can confirm going to friends/fake accounts counts towards the 3000. As of august 2024, you login, get 8 spawned in one biome, and 24 hours later the next login gives you 8 more.

In my experience, since all my thorns are cleared and I’ve been counting each day, it’s 10 new thorns every day, with all 10 of them being found in one specific region for that day,
