How to unlock the The Soul of a City achievement in Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Definitive Guide
So I have to do another run (lucky me :P) to eventually get it.
To get this achievement, you have several conditions :
ZilchZone make a relly good point : you can selling at the Crossroads and earning the missing faction strength. (A useful tips for the end of the game too)
- Do the quest "The Sould of a City"
- Do all the side quest (not sure about this one but it worked on my 2nd run)
- Get 3200 reputations with Shadow Dragons
- Rituals For The Risen
- Cornered In The Catacombs
- Out Of Tune
- Mercenary Intent
- A Hidden Hoard
- The Snake Nest Deal
- Desperate In Dock Town
- Last Rites
- The Tempered Soul, Everlasting
So good news for those that want to play and make some decisions how they want. Maybe just make sure to sell valuables to Minrathous before that turning point in the story if you prefer to save Treviso.

**MISSABLE**
Throughout northern Thedas in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, there are 6 factions… 6 factions you’ll need to keep happy if you want the perfect ending (The Ones That Last (75G) achievement).
Now, there are numerous ways to earn faction reputation points:
- Firstly, by doing quests for them. Whether that’s main quests tied to that faction, side quests or even companion quests for the faction-related individual.
- Secondly, by selling valuables to the faction merchant.
It’s as simple as that.
The below is the list of quests that you get from in and around Dock Town that you can complete for the Shadow Dragons, all of which will earn you faction strength points. On top of that, all of Neve’s companion quests also grant Shadow Dragons faction strength points too.
Also, it should be noted that you don’t need to max out the faction strength (3,200), as on multiple occasions the faction achievements popped for us when we hit the 3-star level (2,900).
- In Memoriam.
- A Shroud Over the Light - Only if you choose to save Treviso over Minrathous.
- Cornered in the Catacombs - clear out the catacombs.
- Rituals for the Risen - Only if you choose to save Treviso over Minrathous.
- The Snake Nest Deal - dude killed his friend.
- Last Rites - Only if you choose to save Treviso over Minrathous.
- A Hidden Hoard - On one playthrough it appeared after Fire and Ice, on another after The Cobbled Swan Case (Neve loyalty quest).
- Out of Tune - On one playthrough it appeared after Fire and Ice, on another after The Cobbled Swan Case (Neve's loyalty quest).
- The Tempered Soul, Everlasting - Only if you choose to save Treviso over Minrathous.
- Desperate in Dock Town - Complete A Hidden Hoard.
- Mercenary Intent - Down by the docks in the later chapters.
- The Soul of a City - Only if you choose to save Treviso over Minrathous.
As an aside, while most of the factions are straightforward, there are 2 exceptions to that rule: the Antivan Crows in Treviso; and the Shadow Dragons in Dock Town, and that’s because of the decision you make in chapter 6: to rush to the aid of Treviso; or to rush to the aid of Minrathous.
Not only will that choice effectively change the area’s side missions, but it’ll also permanently remove the faction merchant from the HQ of whoever you didn’t choose.
The good news is that if you select to assist Minrathous, there’s enough side quests left in Treviso to take you over the 2,900 threshold (we reached it with a quest in Treviso to spare). If you want to save Treviso whilst also unlocking all 7 in a run, try selling all your valuables up until chapter 6 to the Shadow Dragons (we reached 2,450 faction strength by the point of no return, so we were only 450 short in the end).
Once you get to 2,900 with the Shadow Dragons, you’ll reach 3-stars and this achievement will unlock. As an aside, perhaps prepare a save before you do cross the threshold, as like the companion quests, it can be a touch temperamental.
