If you were unlucky like me to complete the game with not the 2000 i would recommend i think its chapter 5 when you have to call for the elevator at an exit it will come up saying to press a at a button on the wall dont press it and use this area to farm the rest of the money

Yep, I just breezed the game and assumed it would come.. nope.
On the second run, I seemed to collect much more $ and was at the first evevator level with $1700 using character 2 (wiggly bullets). Holding out on that level worked and got it within a minute or two.
