You unlock Aerosmith after completing the first 2 songs in career mode, it doesn't matter which difficulty you play on but you do need to play both of the songs on the same difficulty.
The 2 songs you need to play are;
• Cheap Trick - Dream Police
• Matt the Hoople - All The Young Dudes

Aerosmith are unlocked upon completion of the first two songs in the first tier of career mode (on any difficulty). Once you have completed "Dream Police" and "All the Young Dudes" the achievement will pop up and you will play as Aerosmith for the next song.
