How to unlock the To Train Beyond achievement in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name PS4 & PS5 - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement, you need to get 10 members of the Joryu Clan to Bond level 3, and also get them to Lv. 20.

Clan members gain xp by giving Cooperative Fighting Guides, training with the Demon Instructor, or by fighting in the colosseum, with members getting reduced xp if knocked out. Clan members also gain Bond points by gifting Ceremonial Sake Cups, ordering Champagne at OH! SAKAZUKI, or by fighting in the colosseum.

The best way I found to max out both xp and bond is by repeatedly fighting the Hell Team Rumble: Gold Tiger Festival 1. I like grinding this battle because it is the first 10 ally rumble, and can be completed in 30 seconds once your stats get decently high. Also the xp difference between this battle and something like Platinum Tiger Festival: Heaven is only a couple thousand xp, which you more than make up for with the quicker battle.

Tl:Dr: Keep a steady team of 10, farm Hell Team Rumble: Gold Tiger Festival 1

To completely bond with a member of your clan, you’ll need to reach level 3, which doesn’t sound like much, but if you’re just levelling your bond by fighting, it’ll take ages. Also, your bond level isn’t all you need to max out - each fighter also needs to be at Level 20 for a complete bond to count. The best way to level up a bond is to give gifts - these can be purchased from the shop at the Fighters’ Lounge bar. There are four Ceremonial Oath Sake Cups of varying values, with the cheaper ones (Plum, Bamboo) raising a fighter’s bond a little, and, predictably, the expensive ones (Pine, Sakura) raising the bond significantly. Of course, your best course of action is to offer gifts to your strongest fighters, or the ones you like teaming up with most. You can also purchase scrolls from the same shop to help level up your team faster. Raise the bond level of 10 fighters to Lv. 3, alongside raising their core level to 20, and tada! You’re done.
