To summon a co-op partner, you have to go to any Vestige. Vestige are checkpoints in the game to rest, upgrade or enter multiplayer mode.
To do this, go to multiplayer mode and choose either Beckon Lampbearer or Becon Friend. After a co-op player is joined, the achievement unlocks.
