The Sundered Monarch is a pretty easy fight. He is a lumbering brute and carries a statue head in one hand, which he likes to swing at you. Dodging to the right is an effective tactic in this fight. You want to wait until he starts making his large swings and smashing the statue head into the floor. Dodge his swings and close in for some quick damage. One thing to watch out for is when he leaps into the air and smashes down – it sends out a shockwave that you need to dodge through.
Summoning an ally is also particularly helpful in this fight, because it's very easy to get in some good damage while the Sundered Monarch is distracted. Later in the fight, he will fire projectile swords at you, which aren't too tough to dodge, and he will also cause the floor to burn with energy, which you will need to sprint away from. You need to stay aware of his shockwave attacks, dodge through them, and keep dealing damage. Ranged weapons are useful in this fight, too, as you can keep up the damage without the same risk. Once you have defeated the Sundered Monarch, this trophy will unlock.
