How to unlock the Unwanted achievement in Lords of the Fallen - Definitive Guide
This achievement and boss its tied to is story related and cannot be missed.
The Spurned Progeny is an unmissable boss in Lower Calrath. He is a huge, hideous fire abomination with a giant hand inside of his body. There is a umbral flowerbed right before the ledge where you drop into the boss arena. Being a fire boss, he is weaker to frostbite and holy elements. He does a lot of damage so put on your best armor, but I would not recommend all heavy armor because you're gonna dodge really slow and wont be able to get hits in since you take so long to dodge.
The first stage of the fight he will just be standing and attacking and you will have to attack his feet. He has the following attacks:
(1) He does a sweep attack with his arm from the side.
(2) He will fall down on his butt using his body weight to attack (like the Congregator of Flesh).
(3) He can slam down his fists on the ground.
(4) He will slam the ground or something and a ring of fire will start expanding throughout the arena, easy to dodge.
(5) The most annoying attack and the one you should be careful of, is when he brings his hands up to his chest and starts to conjure little fire balls/beams that appear from the ground one by one right where you're standing, and they appear and explode pretty quickly. My suggestion would be to start sprinting as soon as you see him do this. I found dodging to be a bit hard to time right, and the range of these little fire balls/beams is bigger than you'd think.
At 75 percent health he will spew lava all over the the floor and you will have to run up any one of the many staircases and you're onto second and final stage.
In second stage you will be on platforms with walkways connecting them with walls to protect you from his later one shot attack.
Second stage attacks:
(1) Another slam attack with one arm, easy to dodge
(2) Another sweep attack with an arm, easy to dodge
(3) He will get on his knees and have a big arm come out of his mouth and lunge at you 3 times, easy to dodge and gives you 3 or 4 hits after.
(4) He will use his hand to do the same attack as in the first stage with the ring of fire.
(5) Hand comes out of his mouth again and will conjure a big ball of fire on the platform will then explodes into multiple fire balls that shoot into the sky and back down onto the platform youre on. When he does this attack, just move to another platform.
(6) This is the big one shot attack, but I believe this happens first at the 50 percent health threshold. He will conjure a miniature sun with the hand that comes from his mouth and everything will be in flames and your fire status meter will start to fill up. You will need to take cover behind the broken walls along the walkways to survive this. After the miniature sun explodes he will have about a 15 second recovery time. At this point the lava on the floor will all be gone and you can attack him on the 1st level again (recovery time and lava disappearing only happens when he is at about 10-20% health, otherwise fight just continues).
After the big one shot attack with recovery time, the fight should be about over, finish him off and achievement is yours.
All in all, I dont think his attacks are bad at all. They are all relatively easy to dodge but just annoying as hell. Just be patient like always and don't get greedy, and you will eventually beat him. Took me about 15 tries. Learned his attacks, played careful and not greedy, and beat him.
Sorry if guide is a bit long, I always like to be in depth.

When he kneels for the triple hand grab attack in phase 2, if you simply walk to the side of the platform enough (where it's connecting area instead of square "arena") he will give up on it :p
Though return right after as being in the connecting areas will make him start casting that annoying fire aoe under your feet.

Story-related, cannot miss.
Like the Congregator of Flesh, this boss has something of an achilles heel – almost literally. Target his little left foot and get up close. The advantage of this tactic is that many of his attacks have trouble hitting you when you close the gap and run around his feet. Hack away at his foot steadily, and watch out for his ground pound. This can be dodged through and avoided fairly easy, with wide dodge windows. Now and then, the Spurned Progeny will puke lava onto the arena floor; you need to run up the stairs when this happens and stay on the high ground.
Once up here, you can run around the perimeter and avoid his attacks, using ranged attacks if you like. Or you can wait for him to hammer his fist down, then attack his fist. Eventually he will trigger a huge fireball – this will instantly kill you, so get behind the ramparts whenever he charges this up. The lava will disappear after a time, at which point you can back to hacking at his feet. Once you’ve defeated the Spurned Progeny, this trophy will unlock.

The boss is extremely vulnerable to freezing. I threw an umbra borrower at him (some kind of larvae-frost grenades). His XP bar turned white, I went down to him and he moved away with 1(!) hit.
