How to unlock the Mean Machines achievement in Lumo - Definitive Guide

Does anyone remember the old Mean Machines Sega magazine? Anyway...

As part of the story, a predetermined event at a particular point in the game will see you landing in the Warp Zone - A large, floating sun icon which you walk around on. Each ray from the sun is a path, and each path leads to a sequence which, if completed, gives you one letter of the word 'Extend' (a la Bubble Bobble).

Simply start and fail the first event, (for example, by running out of time), and then do not pay to enter any other warp zone doors you come across - the ones with bright red coin slots on them.

This will only pop after finishing the game, where you get a visual representation of the letters you've collected.

This trophy requires you to complete a playthrough without getting any of the 6 bonus letters and it is best left for your Old School run, as you really don’t want to waste time playing minigames there.

There is only a story instance where you are forced to enter the Warp Zone for the first time to play a minigame. Choose one of the 6 minigames and purposedly fail so that you don’t get the associated letter and while proceeding through the game ignore all rooms that teleport you to the Warp Zone. The trophy will pop at the end of the playthrough when you see the “EXTEND” word greyed out.

This achievement is missable!

To unlock this achievement, you need to play an entire playthrough without getting any of the letters that spell “EXTEND”. There is only one time you are forced into the warp zone which is story related, but you still need to fail the minigame, so you don’t void the achievement. This is best to get as you are doing your old school run so you don’t have to play any more of the warp zones. The achievement will unlock when you see this picture when you finish the game.

If you go 100%, I recommend taking this trophy along with the old school one. In the first mini-game we lose (I chose zone T) and go through the game. We'll get trophies at the credits
