There are more lives than what I collected. I only went after lives that were close. Just take your time and watch your shadow when you jump. I don't know if there is a video of all lives. Some lives are in dangerous parts that I didn't go for because it may cost you a life to try to get it. It's been a while since I finished the game but I believe where their was a map page in the other mode is where a life will be in old school run. If you follow the video you should have plenty left over after you run through it about 100 times...Good Luck :) and may the force be with you!!

That's where I died many times as well. When you are on the chains you can stay on them as long as you want. Don't get in a hurry and make sure you are swinging at full momentum and put your back toward the chain you are swinging too. I hope that makes sense. Watch your shadow on the ground and I played in normal mode on this room for a very long time. That way you can die as many times as needed until you can master your timing. Then go for old school mode. Good luck..you will get it.

For that room, do you know how to get your back to stay toward the chain? Whenever I am building momentum on the chain, he moves around to the side or opposite end and doesn't keep his back toward the next chain.

Oh man, this took me 13 tries to do, all I can offer is advice. Don't forget the clock isn't against you, take all the time you need.

I found that a lot of people struggled with the 6 chains and the duck, to do this flawlessly make sure your back is facing the next chain you want to jump to, this always gives the right amount of distance to make that jump and your shadow is your bestfriend, never forget that! if you die before the ice part I'd recommend restarting but that's your call.

As for the cauldron level, I took a 30 minute break, then completed the pacman area and then went and completed the top right door first because I died on that the most during my runs, but thats up to you guys. I hope this helps and if you want to message me ask for specific areas I'll gladly help you out.

By far the hardest trophy in the game. Old School or Classic mode is a mode where you start with 3 lives (but you can pick up more as you proceed through the game) and have to clear the entire run with no saves in one sitting. Reaching the end is your goal here; therefore, avoid taking detours for any secondary stuff.

I’ll list a few reminders:

  • before even starting this mode, get enough practice in by backing-up your save file of when you enter a room with six chains, purple water and a duck on a separate device for storing data during your first playthrough; after you finish that playthrough, copy this file back to your PS4 and practice until the end as many times as it takes to make you feel confident before starting Old School
  • your shadow is your best friend: instead of watching your character, focus on his shadow to know where he is going to land;
  • in the room with six chains and purple water, when you are jumping from the second to the third chain and from the fourth to the fifth, make sure your character’s back is facing the chain you are jumping towards, otherwise the distance to cover would be too much and you’d risk dying. When you get to the sixth chain and the duck, jump on the duck instead of directly jumping from the chain to the platform, as reaching the platform safely by bouncing off the duck is definitely easier
  • in the ice rooms with the really long moving platforms, walk very slowly to avoid losing balance, and jump away when you are near the next door
  • in the ice room where lasers keep coming to you with different patterns, the easiest thing to do is to memorize the initial patterns and go through them right away rather than waiting for new unknown patterns. If you happen to die, quit the room and re-enter it to get the same initial patterns again
  • for the bubble room, I recommend following the strategy under Bub 'N Bob
  • pick up all extra lives you come across and remember that the run is actually quite lenient, and you can afford a lot of mistakes (as you can see in my run); practice and memorization will eventually lead you to victory.

Below is my run, although you can find better ones on YouTube:

This could possibly be the hardest achievement in the game. You need to do a whole playthrough in one run, as there are no saves. You start the game with three lives, but you can find more. A good few are easy to get and some you are risking a life for a life. There are two small shortcuts you can take near the start of the game, by the time you get to the church it’s all down to you.

Here are videos thanks to ThanatosNinja1.

And remember that now instead of pieces of the map there are lives, 20 pieces can be collected per game, at the beginning at 2:27 and 3:46 2 slices are shown, they will save you 5 and 10 minutes, but you will miss two or three lives on each.
At 24:30, when jumping along chains, we use only the cross, if not already
We don’t go to areas with letters, they didn’t give me lives there
33:55 standing at the door, the cube won’t hit you, you can look around, plan a route, run from door to door
37:04 turns off the lights in the right locations from the boiler, so let’s go here first (you won’t have to mess with the bee there by jumping on the button)
38:43 after pressing the second button, when exiting, I advise you to go through the door opposite, further into the pit, then teleport and up, so you will find yourself in the room with the button already on the second floor, without jumping
40:28 room with a key, we descend on the blue platform, wait for the right moment and exit
44:05 I would train this room if I were you, follow the arrows through the retractable spikes, first jump and then move to the side
47:57 if you run in a circle, then focus on the light on the floor from these plates
48:16 when entering a room, we just press and run towards the door and it won’t hit us
50:00 turn on our lights and jump over the tiles

In general, while you are collecting all the game junk in the game, I advise you to rehearse difficult moments

In the last location with 4 doors, I advise you to go through it in the following order:
1) The upper left door (with a bubble), where you can turn off the lights in this entire location. By the way, it is better to pass the bubble using the cross on the 3rd type of control
2) The lower left door does not present any obstacles.
3) The lower right door is also not difficult at all, since we turned off the light in 1 door.
4) The top right door is essentially the most difficult. I also recommend jumping over spikes using the crossbar.

I’ll add, if your jumping skill is not so pumped up, then never try to take a life on the extraction of which you can spend all your lives, this applies to rooms where there were maps in the adventure mode, of course, use all the shortcuts if this is not the first time you’ve completed it and know the whole game by heart , be careful with spikes and swords, be careful on ice, as for me the most effective way to move on it is to jump, follow the timing on the lasers and take your time, be careful with flying saucers of different types too, they are the most greyhounds in the game, I hope this is at least somehow- that will help. Also, personally, on my first playthrough of this kind, I crashed out of the game when I got into the first warp zone and failed the test, this is an inevitable crash of the entire playthrough, you will have to start over if something like this happens to you, I don’t know why.
