Can be done on the first training. Load up the game, click Activities > Flight Training > Basic Handling > Sim Controls. Just follow the basic cued instructions for an auto A.

Is it glitched? I completed three basic training activities with an A and didn't get it.
Edit: tried another activity on PC and this time it unlocked without issues.
