How to unlock the Quality Win achievement in MLB The Show 21 - Definitive Guide
Hello ladies and gents. Today we're getting you the "Quality Win" achievement in MLB The Show 21. The video below will cover everything, but I will also describe everything in text.
Firstly, head to Setting and Settings, and make sure your "Hitting and Baserunning" and "Pitching" difficulties are at Beginner, and that your "Gameplay Style" under "Basic" is set to Casual. Back out and Apply the Changes, if necessary. You can use whatever Pitching and Hitting styles you are comfortable with. We'll only be hitting long enough to score a run or 2, and then we'll be bunting out plate appearances away to quickly return to pitching.
Next, head to Settings and Sliders. These are the important ones:
Dynamic Difficulty - All the way LEFT
Human Contact/Power/Timing - All the way RIGHT
Human Foul Frequency - All the way LEFT
Human Solid hits - All the way RIGHT
Human Starter Stamina - All the way RIGHT (reliever doesn't matter)
Human Pitcher Control/Consistency - All the way RIGHT
ALL CPU Options - All the way LEFT
Fastball/Offspeed pitch speed - Matter of preference, probably best to keep this LEFT, but I prefer faster pitches so I keep it right
All Errors - all the way LEFT
Fielder Options - all the way RIGHT
Baserunner Options - all the way RIGHT
Wind and Injury/Trade Frequency - all the way LEFT
Whatever Starting Pitcher you are going to use, go to Create, Edit Player and find them, and increase all of their attributes. Pitch Speeds should be set as follows. Fastballs should be 99, Changeups 0, and I keep all other pitches at the default speeds, otherwise turn everything else to 99 for the pitcher you want to use (you don't need to do any of the batting attributes). I use Shane Bieber from the Cleveland Indians.
Now head to Exhibition Mode. You will pick the Cleveland Indians as the Home Team on the right. For the Away team, find the San Francisco Giants and hit the LB until the Flying Squirrels are the selected team. Then return to the Indians and press A. Uniforms and Stadium don't matter. Pitching and Lineups are fine as is, just pick Shane Bieber who should be the default pitcher. Make sure you have Fast Play and a 9-inning game selected, and start things off.
For pitching, you are going to use the pitch and the location that the game tells you every time. When you get to 2 strikes the game will sometimes not give you a pitch location, so pick the 4-seam fastball, and aim it at the bottom corner of the strike zone away from the batter, directly on the line showing the strike zone(it doesn't matter if you throw a ball here; just return to following the recommendations on the next pitch). Since we are a dominant MLB pitcher with sliders in our favor against a minor league roster, you should shred them apart. And again, you don't need to worry about runs or walks, just hits, as long as you win. So feel free to miss the strike zone and walk some batters instead of throwing pitches that are in the middle of the plate.
For hitting, you're just going to bat until you get a run or two, and then hold Y for every batter. This will more than likely bunt you out of an inning every time without any runs scoring, returning you to pitching as quickly as possible.
You can allow 3 total hits. If you give up a third, don't panic. The game is stacked in your favor. If you give up a 4th, go to the Exit menu and restart until you are able to finish it, but you shouldn't have any problems.
If you have any questions, let me know!

Obviously I haven't watched you do it, so I don't know exactly what the problem might be, but a few things to consider.
If the servers go down or aren't online, the achievements have some problems unlocking, and there's not a good way to know for sure if that happens during a game that I'm aware of.
That's the most likely culprit, and there's not a lot I can do about servers.
Other things to look out for are re-installing the game or potentially deleting your save file and starting fresh as a last resort. There's nothing else in-game that should restrict the achievement, so the game must be glitching on you somehow.

Edit: sliders and edited rosters have been added to the vault!
From the main menu go to create>vault
Press to search then type SLIDERSTA into the find bar
Press until you reach the sliders tab and download the file with creator Maxumilli0n.
Do the same and search for MetsvMarlins. to get to roster tab and download the file with creator Maxumilli0n
Go back to main menu>settings>file management>sliders>select the file you downloaded for sliders.
Do the above again but this time choose rosters and download the save file.
Now go into an exhibition with Mets as home team(you will be Mets) and Marlins as away team.
All Marlins hitters have 0 stats for hittings.
All Mets batters have 99 overall and DeGrom is 99 overall as well.
WARNING: If these don't unlock and you fulfill the requirements, chances are the servers went down while you were playing. Since launch the servers go down constantly and may or may not save or register your stats voiding achievements.
I got this in March to October mode but can be done on any mode excluding the ones in the description. You can of course do this in online exhibition against another player but if you prefer to do it by other means then I can safely say you can unlock this in March to October and RTTS. Some people are saying they did the requirements in RTTS but it didn't unlock but it should as it's not excluded and I've tested it myself that it does pop.
In March to October, The game I unlocked this in started in the 7th inning. If your teams momentum is hot and you have an amazing starting pitcher, I had DeGrom, when you start a key moment game you have a higher chance at the scorecard starting with the opposing team having less than 3 hits and you only have to play 3-4 innings.
For an exhibition against the CPU, make sure your difficulty is set to beginner for batting and hitting, gameplay set to casual and change these sliders all the way to the left:
CPU Contact
CPU Power
CPU Solid hits
CPU timing
Now change these all the way to the right
CPU foul frequency
All other sliders really don't matter. Just save your sliders upon exiting.
You can also edit the pitcher you will be using through roster control but this is just preference as well.
When you are pitching, use whatever pitching interface you feel comfortable, pulse is the more accurate one and just requires you to choose the pitch then location and then tap the button when the circle minimizes and matches the baseball icon. You can throw fastballs high and inside the strikezone towards the batter and most of the time it will be a strike or foul.
Some of the best rated pitchers to try this with:
Trevor Bauer Dodgers
Clayton Kershaw Dodgers
Jacob DeGrom Mets
Shane Bieber Indians
Max Scherzer Nationals
Gerrit Cole Yankees
Oh and of course, play on beginner difficulty for all March to October achievements.
I tested this also on an alt account and it can also be unlocked in RTTS on beginner difficulty. You must be a starting pitcher and start in the first inning. I used pinpoint pitching which is amazing I must say.

Road to the Show won't work as it's player locked.

Does RTTS not count for this achievement? Because I just got a 2-hit complete game shutout but no achievement.
By Apostle92627 on 20 Apr 2021 16:30
While I've heard you can get this achievement in RTTS, that didn't work for me. So I created a pitcher (I was gonna create him anyway), giving him simple pitches (he's a knuckleball pitcher but that's too complicated for this achievement) and stuck him on the Angels (my favorite team). Then I played against a Double A team in exhibition. I won 3-0, allowing 3 hits with 20 strikeouts, unlocking the achievement.
NOTE: Create a player can be found where you edit rosters on the top right corner of the screen to the left of settings.

Yeah, like I said, I was unable to get the achievement in RTTS despite successfully holding opponents to less than 3 hits (including a no hitter) three times. I got the achievement in exhibition.

Can you elaborate on how you placed your created pitcher on the Angels? Also what mode did you use? I didn't get this in RTTS either, so I am trying to figure out another way.
