You must purchase or unlock a bat skin to unlock this. I don't believe all Bats are considered bat skins.
From the main menu scroll up and select your profile.
to MY collection and choose MY inventory. Then choose MY Equipment & Perks -> Equipment. You should be on the bat page. When highlighting over a bat you will see its info on the right.

Diamond (The rank of the bat)
You must buy and equip a bat with the brand Bat skin. The logo above the bat will be The Show 21.
I bought a bat on the bottom with the brand name Trinity Bat Co and it did not unlock the achievement.
Once you buy the bat you must equip it.
To equip in Diamond Dynasty go to customize -> team equipment and select the bat you bought.
To equip in Road to the Show go to My Player -> MY Ballplayer -> loadout -> bat circle next to your guy and select the bat you bought.

THANK YOU. I had just been equipping a skin and couldn’t figure this out.

You can equip it in RTTS by going to My Player > My BallPlayer > Loadout > Bat (near bottom right shin). You are also able to customize your bat in My Ballplayer > Appearance, but this option does not allow you to choose a bat skin.

Hello there, ladies and gents. The video below details how to get the "That Looks Classy" and "Grand Opening" achievements in less than 15 minutes.
"That Looks Classy", in particular, requires you to equip a bat skin onto your custom player.
NOTE: If the servers are offline or spotty, this will be a headache.
To do this, play through the Diamond Dynasty Introduction until you unlock your card pack (this unlocks the "Grand Opening" achievement). When you get your Card, feel free to sell it for Stubs instead of keeping it, as the extra stubs will help you purchase a Bat Skin if the prices are high (though only do this if you don't plan to play the mode any further). When the game brings you to the "1st Inning Program" screen, press B to back out.
Hit the "View/Select/Back" button and go to the "My Collection" tab and then select "My Inventory". Select "My Equipment and Perks", then "Equipment" and you will see a lot of blue cards. We are going to be looking at the Blue Cards with the "MLB The Show 21" logo on them. These are bat skins. Click on the third card in the Top Row then "View in Market" and it will show you what the Buy/Sell prices are. It should say "Bat Skin name" with the prices across from it. Hit A on this, then "Buy/Sell Options", then you will be highlighting the "Buy" option so press A again and then "Buy now at price".
Back out to the Main Menu, then hit the "View/Select/Back" button again. This time, choose "Loadout". Press B to skip the tutorials if this is your first time here. Then scroll down to the "Bat" circle. Hit A, select your Popcorn skin (or whatever skin you purchased) and hit A again to equip it and unlock the achievement.
