How to unlock the The Long Road achievement in MLB The Show 21 - Definitive Guide

The key to getting promoted in RTTS is your My Player rating. You start out at 59 but you can easily boost your score with Perks and Equipment. I recommended going for the other achievements so you can earn Stubbs which you can use to buy perks and Equipment to level up your My player score. You can buy everything you need in the community market. Focus on buying gold or higher items. I started my season at level 72 and was around level 78 by the all star break. A couple of games after that I was called into the managers office and promoted and the achievement unlocked.

How I did this was basically make sure my 'Road to the Show' player was a Starting Pitcher, focus on building up the attributes as quick as possible and pitch well enough to basically force a call up by the All-Star Break.

You can reduce the difficult to the lowest setting to pad your results.

I have over 70 innings pitched, pitched a no hitter, have 97 strikeouts and an ERA of .90 and still am in Double A. I don’t know what else they want from me

Boost your ratings, you know those little things that end up happening on your days off (Bullpen / Training / Etc). Its why I said build up your attributes, because the higher your overall rating is the better chance for you to get moved up is.

I’m still in double a as a pitcher with a perfect game and a .6 era and overall a 64. My friend got to the show as a 61

I believe you get promoted much quicker if you play with your RTTS character in Diamond Dynasty due to the parallel boosts.

I got promoted to AAA right after the all star break hitting just over .400 as a catcher on a .500 team. I did play with my guy in DD pretty often to boost my attributes.

Got called up as a 78 SP.

I ended the two way experiment. Otherwise you have to grind 15 overall points towards your batter too. Dynamic difficulty trains you to be a better hitter at the expense of progression time.

Gold perks are currently very inexpensive on the market. Cheap way to gain a few overall points for hundreds of stubs. Make sure the stats affect your player archetype.

Depending on your views, Diamond Dynasty is (in)fortunately much easier to grind. You get way better rewards faster by playing in other modes. Your equipment isn’t counted towards your overall so don’t be scared to start them. Conquest works great for practice games.

Lastly, you don’t progress from simulated games. Resist the urge to skip seasons at a time.
