How to unlock the Unleash the DOOM! achievement in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 - Definitive Guide

First off, start a new Campaign as it is much easier to do this RIGHT at the beginning you will be stuck using Spongebob but this should still be pretty easy. This video will give you some tips and tricks on fighting Patrick, what to buy, and how to beat final boss pretty easily.

JULY 4TH, 2024 (UPDATE): It seems from the comments, that a patch since I have played (which was February) has made this unobtainable.

JULY 6TH, 2024 (UPDATE): Apparently this achievement is flagged "discontinued"

JULY 10TH, 2024 (UPDATE): Many thanks to @TheFirstWonder. He says that this IS obtainable. Start a new game plus (not sure if this is relevant).
Then chose the far-right difficulty, which is "Unstoppable Force"
and play as SpongeBob.

JULY 13TH, 2024 (UPDATE): Thanks to @Hooded Claw 006 there is now a way to acquire this achievement since new game+ was added.

First off you need to complete the game once to unlock the "new" hardest difficulty which is called "Unstoppable Force" or have it unlocked already.

The video below misses a trick at the 2:00 mark.
Choose the upgrade you want from the vendor, but don't go through the star to advance, instead save and exit. The game remembers the upgrade you requested but not completing this stage.
Now reload your save and you're at the select an upgrade stage so choose an upgrade again, then Save and exit.
Repeat this and you can get everything levelled up to Level 3. This is also handy for the Whole Campaign.

Also thanks to @I8ITackyticsI8I as he played through the whole game this way and confirmed that @Hooded Claw 006's "trick" does indeed work!

Please let me know if this does not make sense to anyone. Hopefully its all explained good. Good luck peeps!!!

~Thank you to SuddenFall on for figuring this out and posting a video!~

The Patrick tip helped me too. I found the homing projectile didn't reach the Jellyfish often enough to be helpful over an extra life (for assurance). Instead hanging from the edge jumping above when the electric slam happened getting a hit on it as I'm falling from the jump and up to 2 more as the jellyfish went to the side was where I got most damage on it

They must have patched this a while ago, as I beat the Jellyfish on the highest difficulty yet it didnt unlock.

I'm in the same situation. I got the achievement for completing a run, but not this one. Even checked I was on the right difficulty when I got to the hub.

I did force close the game if I died to King Jellyfish so I could start at the fight again, not sure if that affected it.

Same issue here, didn't unlock even after beating king jellyfish on highest difficulty and it's not been unlocked since 20 June. I reckon this one is bugged sadly.

This is obtainable. Got it on 10 July 2024. I started new game plus (but I am not sure if this is relevant). I chose the far right difficulty, which is "unstoppable force". So I got this by playing as SpongeBob.

Thanks to TheFirstWonder there appears to be a workaround as I can confirm I have unlocked the achievement. New game plus appears to be the only way to unlock the achievement. Complete the first world as SpongeBob on Unstoppable Force difficulty and the achievement will unlock after King Jellyfish is defeated.

From my experience I started a NG+ and died during King Jellyfish. I was naïve and thought I would just have to restart the solo run to King Jellyfish. I was wrong and it puts you into the campaign where you have to do the 3 world run. I have yet to try to confirm.

Also as a note, I don't believe the achievement was ever "broken" its just the way the criteria is worded for the achievement. It says you have to complete a run "on the highest difficulty". It doesn't specify "Prepare for Doom" so when the NG+ update added "Unstoppable Force" that is now the hardest difficulty in the game. Its just only accessible in NG+. But would love to hear if anyone else had any other experiences.

To make this even easier, video misses a trick at 2:00 mark.

I used the exploit mentioned by hooded claw 006 above for the entire game. Can confirm that you need to complete the game to unlock the final difficulty 'unstoppable force' now which is only accessible via new game plus. Before the update the final difficulty was prepare for doom so I guess they updated the requirement with the new difficulty

Just unlocked this today using the aforementioned glitch. Super easy to do. What you want to do is just keep getting every upgrade until you have them all and he will then have a "+1 Stock" upgrade. Now you can only get this once and it only gives you 1 more life but then when you see him again, you can get another life bringing you to a total of 3 lives for only a few stages. I actually didn't ever use a single life and never even took any damage until the last boss because of how OP I was with all the upgrades. Just take your time and let the projectiles do most of the work while avoiding getting hit and you should have zero trouble with this one.

And yes, you have to start a new campaign on New Game+ to be able to choose Unstoppable Force difficulty.

I’m pretty sure if you don’t complete the first single world run on NG+ then you will move into the campaign and have to complete a typical 3 world run. I will try it tonight to confirm.

Failed on my 1st attempt, tried on my second attempt which isn't the "shorter/easier" route and the first stage freezes after I yeet the final dude into the abyss. Shambles of a game.

Currently if you start a new game and make it to and beat the jellyfish on the highest difficulty before u make it to the hub world it counts this a s a run and will give you the achievement. This makes this 10x easier as all enemies you face are basic ones and can easily make it to the boss without taking barely any damage. When facing Patrick and whoever you choose to face after I recommend just sliding into them as you can win this way without being hit which also makes things easier.

It's not my solution, but helped me.

Note: This achievement does NOT require you to beat the entire Campaign on the highest difficulty. That would be insanely difficult. It requires you to finish a run in Campaign mode on the highest difficulty. Savior of the World (100G) explains to layout of Campaign mode and how runs work. If you read that achievement solution, you'll understand why the easiest way to get this achievement is to do it at the start of a new Campaign save file, on the first run of the Campaign. This is because the first run is the shortest and easiest. The first run consists of around 4 or 5 fights and a boss fight against King Jellyfish. To put it in perspective, regular runs consist of at around 20 fights and three boss fights, so it would be incredibly difficult to do that on the highest difficulty.

So, start up a new save file in Campaign mode on the highest difficulty. This part is set: you'll be playing as Spongebob, and will have the same fights: an arena fight, a fight against Patrick, another Arena fight, and a fight against someone else of your choosing (depending on the path you pick), then ending with a fight against King Jellyfish. You need to do all of that on the hardest difficulty without dying once. Any damage you take in one fight carries over to the next too. As a result, your priority needs to be getting Blimps and spending them at shops to heal whatever damage you took. Play all fights safely: stay in the center and do charge attacks while waiting for enemies to approach you. The Arena fights are pretty simple, against small jellyfish that don't even attack you often on the highest difficulty. The fight against Patrick can be dangerous. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security. His attacks will do very high damage and knockback to you, so be very careful you don't let him get close. Same deal for the other arena fights, and for the second opponent fight.

Once you get to the King Jellyfish fight, hopefully with relatively low damage (under 70% or so) so you can take a couple hits without being knocked off screen, you've reached a checkpoint of sorts. With all of the other fights, if you die it's over; you need to delete your save file and start again. Once you get to the King Jellyfish fight, if you lose it doesn't save your game immediately. If you die, King Jellyfish will start with some dialogue. During this dialogue, force close the game app. When you reload the game, you'll be back at the King Jellyfish fight, giving you unlimited attempts to beat it.

For the fight itself, it does four attacks:

Ground smash, which is highly telegraphed. Move out of the way, jump over the shockwave, and attack
Laser, which happens fast without much time to reach. Jump over it
Energy ball, which is the worst one, because if it hits you, you're pretty screwed on the highest difficulty. That thing will send you flying. Avoid at all costs
Charge across the platform. This is the rarest attack. Jump over it with double jump and then an 1LSUp.gif+button-x.png recovery
The fight seems to always start with a ground pound attack, then it moves to the left and does a laser then an energy ball. I would jump into the ground pound attack and attack it, then go right on top of it and charge attack it twice. Then, to avoid its laser and energy ball attacks, either double jump off the edge of the platform and then back, or hang down off the edge. After each attack, get in two charge attacks. After the energy ball attack, you should be able to keep charge attacks going to get the boss to half health, at which point it'll charge up for the second half. For the second half, same strategy: stay on top of it, and whenever it is about to attack, double jump off the platform and back so you don't get hit. Between each of its attacks, get in two charge attacks.
With any luck, you'll win this fight within a few attempts of learning the attack patterns. It took me probably 10-15 attempts, so be patient and don't be too aggressive. I went into the fight with 56% damage, so I was able to take two or three hits and still recover, as a point of reference. If you're going in over 80% damage, you might as well restart the run, because that essentially means you need to beat the entire boss fight without getting hit, which is pretty rough.

Once you beat King Jellyfish, you'll unlock this achievement, which is probably the hardest in the game.

Short version: hang back at the opposite ledge and concentrate on dodging the two moves (plasma ball, tackle) that can actually reach you. Then, punish the ground & pound move with a few heavy hits and retreat to safety.

You can shoot bubbles for extra damage during the laser attacks.

My first run, I got to King Jellyfish with 85 damage, and he wiped the floor with me, so I decided to start over.

Second run, I lucked out and one of the free upgrades GIR offered was an extra stock! I used the extra life, but I beat King Jellyfish on the first try.

Does anyone know how to float back onto the platform? The jellyfish bashes me off and the double jump never gets me back to the platform

For anyone who is an absolute bonehead like me, trying to figure out why the achievement didn't unlock, the highest difficulty is PREPARE FOR DOOM. I used "madness reigns" because I thought the aforementioned one was the easiest.

in addition to starting a new campaign save on hardest difficulty for a shorter and easier run, i've discovered a few things that make this achievement a LOT easier.
- at any point before you lose all your stocks in game, you can press START and go to save and quit, this will RESET the stage you were on with however much HP you originally had when you started.
- when you get to wilderness 3, there is a robot named GIR that gives you a choice of 3 perks. pick ANY perk EXCEPT for the +1 stock perk and the heal 75hp perk. after you pick your perk press start and go to save and quit. this will put you back at wilderness 3 with GIR and he will again give you the option to choose 1 of three perks. Repeat the previous step and you will notice that when you see a perk you previously chose it will be leveled up! you can repeat this over and over to stack up perks and be op for when you go against the jellyfish.
- the 75HP and +1 stock perk DO NOT STACK. you can only choose one upon continuing forward that will register.
- you can do the aforementioned save and quit method at any stage where they give you perks.
- you might also be able to do it for the blimp currency by hitting skip at the bottom, i didn't test that.

This achievement is confusing people for two reasons: The usage of the term "campaign run" in the achievement. A campaign run is going all the way to the end of the campaign and beating it until you reset back to the hub.

AND

The achievement is called "Unleash the DOOM!" which is the second highest difficulty and not the highest. The highest difficulty that unlocks this achievement is called Unstoppable Force and is only unlockable via beating the entire campaign and then starting on New Game+. They should not have named this achievement Unleash the DOOM!

In order to unlock this, you need to beat the entire campaign and start new game+, which means you need to:
1.) Start campaign mode and beat multiple runs until you eventually fight Clockwork. When I did this, I beat the campaign on Unleash The Doom difficulty but I don't think it matters for this achievement until you do step 3. It took me three campaign runs to get to Clockwork but this may be different for everyone.
2.) Beat Clockwork
3.) When it takes you back to the hub, go through the portal Clockwork talks about that sends you home and credits should roll
4.) Start New Game+ (you should have an option for this in main menu -> campaign by highlighting your beaten campaign and looking at the bottom of the screen for the NG+ button) and pick Unstoppable Force difficulty
5.) Beat King Jellyfish on Unstoppable Force difficulty. If you are unable to beat King Jellyfish and you get defeated and go back to the hub, this should unlock the next time you beat a run.

When I got this achievement on version 1.11.0 (24962)w there is a bug with the free upgrade levels (like Gir and Mrs. Puff) where if you get an upgrade and then save and exit prior to going through the portal, you will retain the upgrade when you load the campaign again. This means you can get all of the upgrades and easily take out everyone. In the above walkthrough, when you start New Game+ you should get Gir as the second level. If you grab all of the upgrades, you should have completely overpowered projectiles and you can just spam Spongbob's Bubble until everything dies.

This can be done by selecting the farthest right level in Campaign Mode.

The twist is you can save scum on GIR (Wilderness Stage 3) and later(Campaign's 2nd stage after defeating King Jellyfish) on FRIDA and GIR both ( Wilderness Stage 2) and so on.

it will hence become extremely easy peasy if you do this 'Save and Exit' method and re-enter campaign.

NOTE:-- NG+ unlocks New mode 'Unstoppable Force' i.e. on clearing the campaign 4th time after defeating Clockwork.

enjoy the easy chevoo!!clap
