How to unlock the Big Deal achievement in PAYDAY 2 - Definitive Guide

Update: Several gamers have confirmed they unlocked this achievement with different combinations of Pro Heists, non-Pro heists, yellow stars and even no stars. This makes it seem like it spawns 9 paintings at random and very luck based.

Personally confirmed 9/10/13 I played this again online with 2 friends on a non-Pro job with 9 stars (6 white 3 yellow) and 9 paintings spawned. They both got the achievement when we traded the paintings.

I was able to do this solo on a 8 star Pro Job: Framing Frame (5 stars plus 3 more for Overkill difficulty) this many stars and pro version did not show up for me until I was a level 39.

You have to do this stealthy! My suggestion is to put your points into at least these classes and skills and having a silenced pistol will help if you need to kill someone.

Mastermind:

Smooth Talker
Dominator (Aced)

Ghost:
Cat Burglar
Shinobi (Aced)

Now that you have your build ready when the mission starts head to the right of the Art Gallery. Climb the twisted staircase and make you way to the roof.

Once on the roof peek through each skylight looking for guards and security cameras so that you have a basic idea of where they are. What you are looking for though is a stack of boxes/crates under one of the skylights. Once you locate it open the skylight and drop down when it's clear.

Now that you are in crouch and peek around corners, when you see a guard walking wait for him to come to you and then show yourself, let him be alerted and as soon as you see the orange exclamation point shout at him and make him cuff himself (Push RB 3 times while aimed at them)

Guards are not suspicious of other guards kneeing and handcuffed, just don't do it in front of another one. If you have to kill someone who resists be sure to answer the pager. Make your way around the map doing the same for each guard and watching not to be caught in view of a camera. Once you have cuffed or killed all guards (I always have 5 maximum) and still no alarm you are almost home free. I would then suggest to get under each camera look up and melee it to disable them.

Once all this is done pick the front door and start looting the paintings and throw them in the van, hopefully there are 9 but if not back out to Crime.net and try again.

The achievement will pop on day 2 after you throw the 9th painting out of the roof in the train car in exchange for the bags of cash.

I had seen comments on other sites saying you had to do the max difficulty, it happened for me on a 6 white + 1 yellow PRO job, so max is not necessary, but PRO might be.

Cheers for the guide. Agree with GatorFist, Pro job with 6 white + 2 yellows did it for me.. But I did do Pro job with 6 white + 3 yellows and only turned up 7 paintings (I double/tripple checked each room). So might be a bit random?

Just got this on a 4* white (i.e. no yellow stars) at level 27 solo offline, took 9 paintings without hacking the computer. So PRO is not necessary but perhaps there is a higher chance of 9 paintings being there?

Pro job 2yellow stars for me. If you invest in level 3 mastermind you can get the guards to cuff themself from the roof! Get all 4 random guards to do this then shhot cameras through the skylight, and then go in through the bathroom door, then take care of last camera n shoot the guard.

I can confirm what Gregor Lenko said.

I just did it with two stars regular (not pro). 9 paintings spawned.

I was pretty confused with this guide until I realised that the majority of the guide is about Day One of the job.

Anyways I can confirm that 9 paintings spawn randomly even in 1-star jobs.

As an addition to what has been said before, here is my run playing solo/ full stealth on Overkill:

This also includes the 2 other achievements related to framing frame job.

Required equipment: Silenced pistol.
Required skills: Dominator and Smooth talker (mastermind tree), Cleaner (ghost tree).
Other skills from the ghost tree can help too (chameleon, shinobi).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I'd be glad to help.

This achievement requires you to steal 9 paintings on Day 1 in order to be able to trade them during Day 2. The number of paintings available in the gallery is randomized and fluctuates anywhere between 6-9 on a given play through, so several restarts may be necessary. This does NOT seem to be affected by difficulty, so use Normal if you are just going for this achievement. As always, bring an OVE9000 Saw if attempting a loud Day 1 in order to cut through the security bars that appear over the paintings.

The achievement should pop after the 9th bag is thrown through the train roof in Day 2.

Although I do not use it, I have been told that by using the HoxHud add-on, you will be able to see the potential loot in the map as soon as you load it. This should make it easier to know if you should restart Day 1 to ensure that 9 paintings appear without having to run through the entire gallery.

In order to do this, you must first steal 9 paintings on Day 1. 9 is the maximum number of paintings that can spawn on Day 1, so simply restart until you find 9 paintings with a red SOLD sticker on them, then complete the day with all 9 paintings. Once on Day 2, simply trade all 9 for cash at the start for the trophy.

In order to buy the contract on Crime.net, Framing Frame costs between $625,000 (Normal) and $3,300,000 (Overkill Pro) from your off-shore account.

You will first have to steal 9 paintings in Day 1 of the Framing Frame job. The amount of paintings that spawn on this job is random each time the level loads. It can be anything between 6 and 9, though 7-8 is most common. If you do not have enough paintings, just restart the level. In Crime.net Offline all you have to do is hit  and select "restart game" to restart that day. If playing online, so long as you are still undetected, you can go up to the roof, and jump down through the glass. As long as you don't land on anything before you hit the ground, you should get downed, and the AI won't do anything about it. The Paintings that can be stolen will have a red sticker on them. This is easiest to do stealthily. See "Painting Yourself into a Corner" for tips on how to sneak through Day 1.

Day 2 is simple. At the start of the day, you’ll have to carry all 9 paintings to a table in the abandoned train in front of you. Once all paintings are there, a helicopter pickup will arrive above the train; you’ll have to pick up and throw the paintings up through the hole onto roof of the train where the helicopter will take them and drop a money bag for each painting. This is the trade. The achievement will unlock as soon as you trade your 9th painting.

To start, on day 1 of the mission " Framing Frame " you need to steal 9 paintings. (See the trophy tip for " Painting Yourself Into a Corner ") These two trophies can be combined.

Then on the 2nd day of the mission " Framing Frame " you need to sell these same paintings. VIDEO

I made the trophy solo. The method may not be simple, but it is reliable. This means we buy the contract offline (in order to be able to restart the mission). We buy the most ordinary contract, not an overkill!!! Next, we put on the strongest armor that you have and take a powerful weapon (it’s more reliable and easier this way). Now we run into the museum and count the paintings with a red mark in the lower right corner. We count quickly and carefully, if you count 9, then open the security door and break open the bars, since by then everything will have been closed for a long time. After opening the bars, we collect the paintings and take them to the security room, where the bars were broken into (I put them there, since it was easier there.) Now we slowly and carefully drag all the paintings to the van. Although this is the most minimal level of difficulty, it is still advisable to be careful. I also recommend pumping up skills that allow you to survive shelling. Well, that’s all! On the second day, we exchange the paintings for money, and the trophy will immediately appear (day 2 you don’t have to complete it). I will also leave a useful link where you can familiarize yourself with all the skills available on the ps3 version. There is a description of each skill in Russian. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil.../?id=169735426
