How to unlock the I Wasn't Even There! achievement in PAYDAY 2 - Definitive Guide

Just a quick note: If the stars align, you can get this achievement solo. However, in order to do so, the vault will have to spawn on the second floor - the same floor as the desktop computer. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell where the vault is without actually playing the level, so prepare to reset often.

Even with the vault in the proper place, you'll need some perks to get through. These fall into two basic categories: subduing the five guards in the area and being able to dash to the vault quickly.

Subduing Guards:
Dominator (Aced) - Mastermind Tier 3
Smooth Talker (Basic) - Mastermind Tier 3
(Optional: Pumping Iron (Basic) - Enforcer Tier 2)
(Optional: Martial Arts (Basic) - Ghost Tier 3)
(Optional: Shinobi (Ace) - Ghost Tier 3)

Dominator is essential as you want as many guards as possible to surrender and cuff themselves. Oddly, guards seem to have no problem with one of their comrades kneeling down handcuffed, but will instantly sound the alarm when seeing a corpse. The same goes for cameras, so try not to kill a guard where he can be seen by a camera.

Unfortunately, guards will sometimes resist domination and you'll have no choice but to kill them. Smooth Talker helps because you can successfully answer at least four pagers before risking an alarm (as opposed to the standard two.) Domination is still preferable, as you're a sitting duck while answering a pager.

The optional skills will all boost your melee ability. If you don't have any suppressed guns, melee is the only stealthy option you have left if domination fails. Be careful when meleeing alerted (and un-dominatable) guards, as if you're not quick on the draw, they'll cuff you and sound the alarm, ending the mission.

Getting to the vault (and getting the gold out):
Endurance (Aced) - Mastermind Tier 1
Transporter (Basic) - Enforcer Tier 1
Sprinter (Aced) - Ghost Tier 1
Fast Hands (Aced) - Ghost Tier 2

After subduing the guards and smashing the cameras, all that's left is getting the gold out of the vault without sounding the alarm. Once you enter the override on the desktop computer, the motion sensors will turn off for about ten seconds. During this time, you'll have to sprint to the vault, bag one set of gold bars, and exit the vault before the motion sensors turn back on. (This is why it's only possible when the vault is on the same floor, and therefore closer to, the computer.)

I'm unsure if you only need to get one bag of gold or all eight to get this achievement, but getting all eight is ideal for getting a hefty payday out of the mission.

I did this completely stealthy but only bagged one bag of gold (the vault spawned on the lowest floor in the large room with couches. I was able to activate the computer and sprint all the way to the vault and bag some gold with literally no time left. Trust me my heart was pounding and I was puckered up tight. I did not want to push my luck going for all the gold.) Unfortunately the achievement didn't pop so I assume you need all the gold. Would love to try this one with others who are willing to use proper teamwork for a stealthy job.

Great guide. Took a few tries but when it came together it worked. I used the shout further skill to get 4 of the guards to cuff themselfwhile I stood on the glass windows on the roof then went after the last guy, avoiding all cameras. When he was down I killed the cameras n hoped it was on the top floor and it paid off.

I had the same vault room as boltsinxlii, then read it's best if nearer, but I thought I'd risk it seeing as I'd been on the level for a while. His method does work! Not recommended for your health though, as my heart rate was going crazy risking it every time, so cuffed when I got the last gold out of there!

Great guide, Definitely possible to do this solo, For me, the vault was always behind a bookcase (moveable by pressing RB). Before taking out the guards/cameras and collecting the five items I would check whether it was on the second floor and if not, simply hit "Restart Game" until it was.

You have to do this mission completely stealth to unlock this otherwise the vault wont open. To get this achievement here's what to do:

1: Find 2 hard drives, computer, tablet, and phone without being detected. The random spawns for these are:

top level of the office, office desk, office shelf (to the left of the stairs), second level balcony, 2nd level tv, 2nd level tv shelves, desk at tv, red couch shelves 2nd level, red couch desk 2nd level, bedroom nightstands and chairs, just outside the bedroom, kitchen, small table by the piano bottom level, and the bottom level left and right couches.

2: Assemble all pieces on the roof

3: Use the computer in the office

4: Find the safe. Random spawns for this are:

Behind the bedroom book case, coming down the main staircase turn left on the second level and go down the hallway to another bookcase, and bottom level in front of the right couch is a final bookcase.

*BEWARE* If guards spot the vault revealed, they will be alerted.

5: Move the coke from the roof to the safe room.

6: Open the vault by using the office computer again.

7: To disable the motion sensors in the vault you will need someone at the computer in the office. They will disable for roughly 5 seconds each time you use the computer so id suggest disabling, then going in and bagging the gold, then disabling and throwing the bags out.

8: With the bags out of the safe, take them to the roof.

9: Reap your rewards.

This can be done solo too in offline mode, you need the fast loot perk on to deal with the computer over-ride.

Get in vault drop gold by door wait for laser to come online , run to computer overide , run to vault pick up gold rinse and repeat :D

Just did the Framing job chapters without firing one bullet :)

unfortunatly only 7 pictures spawned for me otherwise i'd have had the 9 paintings traded cheevo too :(

Do it with atleast 2 people on the team(see video). This method is for a less stressing way to get the achievement. The run in the video took 25 min but we have gotten it down to 13 minuttes so far.

REQUIREMENTS

- During Day 1 collect as many paintings as possible(9 is max).

- One on the team needs to have Dominator(Mastermind tier 3) Smooth Talker(Mastermind tier 3) Shinobi(Ghost Tier 3) he will be the one taking out guards/cameras.

- Use Stealthy equipment(two-piece suit/silencers on guns).

- Two people on the team atleast(1 to clean out the place for guards and cameras and one to controle the cameras in the paintings and spot guards and items.
When the place has been cleaned for guards and cameras you only can mess up the last part with the lasers in the vault).

As an addition to what has been said before, here is my run playing SOLO/ full stealth on Overkill:

This also includes the 2 other achievements related to framing frame job.

For "I wasn't even there! achievement", skip to 19:55 (Day 3)

Required equipment: Silenced pistol.
Required skills: Dominator and Smooth talker (mastermind tree), Cleaner (ghost tree).
Other skills from the ghost tree can help too (chameleon, shinobi, fast hands, sprinter).

This can be done both solo and in coop, but coop is highly recommended (2 players). Both will be covered though. (This solution is not based on Pro Framing Frame, as it is much easier to do it normal on Overkill and get good money)

You will have to complete day 1 and day 2 of the Framing Frame job to play day 3 in either Crime.net or Crime.net Offline. This is a fully stealth mission; it is recommended to do this mission with at least 2 players due to the random spawn point of the vault. You will also need the Dominator skill. A silenced weapon and the cleaner skill can be useful too. Depending on where the vault spawns and how far away it is from the office, you may or may not be able to do this on your own; this is why at least 2 players is ideal. Once the mission starts, you’ll notice a large sack attached to a zip wire in front of you; this is where you’ll be dropping off the gold at the end of the mission.

Head downstairs, pick the door lock and head down. There are five roaming guards. You'll be able to get 4 of them to handcuff themselves, and then you need to kill the 5th and answer his pager. Now, find and break the cameras so that the alarm isn’t tripped while you search for the devices. Once you've found them, set them up back upstairs where the mission started, and now look for the vault. It spawns behind one of three different bookcases.

Transport the coke from the roof top to the spot outside the vault, and then one player should stand ready at the vault while the other heads up to the office to open it and disarm the lasers. The lasers are only disabled for a few seconds. If your volume is up, you will hear 3 quick beeps before they reactivate. The player in the vault has to bag up and toss out all the gold while the other player takes care of re-disabling the lasers. If you have the fast hands skill, you can safely pack and toss 3-4 bags each time. Once all bags of gold are out, bring them back to the sack outside, upstairs to the start of the mission; if the alarm never went off then the achievement will unlock once the mission is over.

It is better to be patient in the vault than in a hurry. You are not gonna get caught here. There's no hurry. However, if you or a bag touch the lasers, it's over. ECM jammers have NO effect on the lasers and their alarm. Take your time, not chances.

This is the last of the stealth trophies. This is rather similar to Painting Yourself Into a Corner, in that you'll have to kill/disable 5 guards and 5 cameras before you can safely advance. This can be done solo, but it is easier in co-op. If you're doing this solo, make sure to bring a Doctor Bag in case the vault appears in the dining room on the bottom floor, as you'll take damage when running back and forth between the laptop and the vault (as you'll have to jump down).

First of all, remove the guards and cameras from the equation, similar to how it was mentioned in the aforementioned trophy. With all guards and cameras dealt with, you're free to go about your business. Find the 5 objects throughout the apartment (they can be spotted with the laptop on the roof), then set them up on the roof. Once done, locate the bookcases throughout the apartment and move them. There are 3 bookcases, and the staircase to the vault will appear behind one of them. You can find the bookcases in the bedroom (bottom floor), dining/lounge room (bottom floor) and kitchen hallway (top floor). If you're doing this solo, you won't be able to do it if the vault spawns behind the bedroom bookcase, as it will be too far away from the laptop.

Once you locate the vault, move all the bags of cocaine from the roof into the vault anteroom. Once done, use the laptop in the office to open the vault door. With the door open, you can use the laptop to deactivate the laser grid in the vault for 15 seconds - this is why it is recommended to be done in co-op. If you're in co-op, one player can stand by the laptop, whilst the other player can wait by the vault. Doing this solo requires you to deactivate the laser grid and then run down to the vault to grab a pile of gold before the lasers reappear. Once you have all the gold out without tripping the lasers, move them up to the zip-line on the roof to get your trophy.

Recommended skills for doing this are: Smooth Talker (Mastermind Tier 1), Dominator Pro (Mastermind Tier 2), Chameleon (Ghost Tier 2), Cleaner Ace (Ghost Tier 2), Shinobi Ace (Ghost Tier 3), Martial Arts (Ghost Tier 3). If you're doing this solo, you'll also want Sprinter Ace (Ghost Tier 1) and Cat Burglar Ace (Ghost Tier 1), so that you can get to the vault fast enough.

The below video is from before Patch 1.02, so ignore the fact that he dominates the guards. On Patch 1.02, cuffed guards can be detected by other guards and cameras, thus it is not recommended at all, except for the fifth guard. You can only answer 4 pagers across your entire team with the Smooth Talker skill, so the fifth guard will have to be cuffed. Kill, answer pagers and bag enemies until you can't answer any more pagers.

In order to buy the contract on Crime.net, Framing Frame costs between $625,000 (Normal) and $3,300,000 (Overkill Pro) from your off-shore account.

IMPORTANT! You need to zip-line ALL the bags of gold, not just one. We played with a friend and sent one bag. As a result, the trophy did not drop. So you need to send all the bags
