You’ll probably obtain this naturally as you play, but you can obtain this achievement as early as the first level. I played on R-Typer difficulty. There are more enemies on higher difficulties than on lesser difficulties.
Near the beginning of the stage, after you pick up your first Missile power up, many enemy ships start coming towards you. Some will spawn from the ceiling and some will spawn from the right. They will all funnel through the opening in the middle of the screen towards you. Keep your Force attached to the back of your ship, hang back behind the opening, and charge the wave cannon as they approach you. Let loose when they get close and there are plenty of enemy ships onscreen, and the achievement should pop.
Note: You don’t want to use a ship equipped with homing missiles when trying for this achievement as they will destroy the incoming enemy ships. In fact, to be safe, you may want to avoid picking up the missile power up entirely.
