How to unlock the Collector achievement in Rayman Fiesta Run - Definitive Guide

Firstly, this isn't cumulative. You need to have 20,000 Lums at once, so try to avoid using power-ups if possible.

Secondly, there are two ways to reach 20,000....

1. The hard way. Earn 20,000 by simply playing. You can replay any level and earn Lums over and over if need be. You will also be gifted Lums at various points of the campaign and you are given extra Lums when you perfect a level.

2. The easy way. You can simply buy the Lums required for real money. Clicking on the plus symbol next to your Lum total takes you to the shop. Don't know about other currencies but it costs £0.99 for 8,000 and £1.39 for 20,000. There is also a 50,000 option for £2.19, but that is totally unnecessary.

As soon as you pass 20,000, the achievement will unlock.

On the way, you will also unlock

Rayman Fiesta Run (Windows)GourmandThe Gourmand achievement in Rayman Fiesta Run (Windows) worth 7 pointsCollect 3,600 Lums

Rayman Fiesta Run (Windows)VoraciousThe Voracious achievement in Rayman Fiesta Run (Windows) worth 15 pointsCollect 7,200 Lums

Make sure you do not buy artwork or extra characters if you want to do this faster.

Glad I read this. Didn't realize it wasn't cumulative. Thanks.

For anyone with a similar interest in expressing his or her own technical prowess while avoiding spending cash and/or dealing with the monotonous replaying of level nine, it is very much possible to assign a macro to your keyboard to complete the level for you. For those who are not familiar, a macro is a recording of keystrokes (or mouse clicks) that can be replicated by your computer to perform an array of functions on the fly. These commands can then be assigned to a key on your keyboard and performed with as little effort as pressing a single key.

Note: Your machine must be powerful enough to support Rayman Fiesta Run without any real lag; delays on the game can easily throw the macro off, causing the entire method to work incorrectly.

For the interest of user safety and simplicity, I used Microsoft's Intellitype 8.2 software, though any other macro should work (but may require minor tweaks). You may download the same software for your operating system from the following links:
64 Bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2695...
32 Bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2694...

_______________________

Once you have installed the software, you can launch the program by pressing Start and typing 'Microsoft Keyboard'.

Now that you have launched the program, you need to select a key to assign the macro to. Most keyboards have useless buttons that are seldom used, so I typically assign the macros that I create to these keys. For the sake of this demonstration, I'm using my keyboards F1 key.

Note: If you find yourself confused in the following steps or otherwise decide that this is not the method for you, selecting 'Restore Defaults' on this window will revert back to before any changes were made to your keyboard.

_______________________

After you have selected the key you wish to assign the macro to, select the 'Assign/Manage Macro' button. Here is where you will craft the functions that will complete the level for you. Create and name your macro whatever you like, but make sure you click the 'Enable Macro repeat' check box (this will allow the macro to continuously complete the level while you are away), then click inside of the Editor Box.

_______________________

Once your cursor is located inside of the Editor box, you are now ready to create your macro. In order for your computer to complete the level on its own, you will want to make sure your editor window contains the same keys and times listed on this solution (any changes could potentially mess up your run).

Tips for replicating the exact commands:
- You can modify the amount of milliseconds assigned to a key by double clicking.
- Avoid using your arrow keys to navigate the editor area, doing so may confuse you.
- Mouse Button 1 (also known as left-click) can be found under the 'Insert Special' button immediately below the editor panel.

Once you have finished entering your macro, hit the 'Save' button and then 'Ok'. Head over to your Fiesta Run game, start up level 9 and stop at the point where the 'Go' button starts shaking. Place your mouse over the restart button and press the key that you assigned your macro to. Your game should automatically collect all 100 Lums, reach the end of the level and will continue to restart until you press your Macro key again.

One cycle of this macro takes roughly 40 seconds. Assuming the player has amassed at least 7200 Lums (leaving 12800 remaining for the achievement) during their original playthrough of the game, this method should unlock your achievement in little under an hour and a half.

If any parts of this process cause you confusion, please let me know. With your help, I can improve the solution to make it easier for everyone to understand.

All my keyboards seem to be recognized as HID instead of USB. Any idea if it's just something with my PC or my keyboards?

I'd unlocked all but the grind achievements a while ago but after grinding level 9 on the phone I wasn't up for it on the PC right away. Especially since on phone I can grind while waiting for a meeting to start and at other downtimes but if I'm sitting at my PC I would usually rather be working than doing a monotonous grind. I unlocked the 10km jogging and 216 skull coin cheevos today after playing level 9 for a while but still needed several thousand to get to 20k and was glad to check here to see if there were any new suggestions I hadn't seen before. I had to modify the timing a little to work on my machine - I changed the 1900/350/300 sequence to 2100/250/200 because that first jump sometimes didn't make it to the platform at only 1900.

To those that can't use the Intellitype software, there's other macro software out there - could still be worth a try.

Found a compatible keyboard, this solution is the best!

Would this work for a Surface tablet? (Surface pro 3 with the Type cover).

I can't confirm since I don't own one, but it should work the same since the Surface Pros are basically a full fledged PC with touch screen built in. I doubt a surface RT would be able to do this however.

Had to do some tweaking to some of the steps but once I got it dialed in it was perfect. Thanks for this!

The software says it only will work with Microsoft keyboards, so I guess it leaves out most of PC owners

Note that replaying a level which was already completed (with the 100 lums), makes you gain then by replaying this level an extra Skull Coin which means that you earn at the end 120 lums.

I also recommend grinding level 9 which takes about 30/40 seconds to complete with the whole lums and Skull coins, it's also a simple one.

These achievements require that you collect a total of 20,000 Lums and are cumulative across all plays and replays of all levels. However, you must make it to the end of a level without dying for the Lums to count. The counter for this achievement is actually the amount of Lums you currently have in the bank (i.e. you must save up 20,000 Lums at one time).

Lums are the yellow bee-like creatures that you gather with Rayman by getting close to or touching them as you move through the level. There are 100 of them to be gathered in each level. 40 of these 100 are individual Lums and the other 60 of them are contained in 3 Skulls Coins (large gold coins with the image of a skull on them, worth 20 Lums a piece). This will likely be your last achievement. By the time you finish Level 36 for the last completion achievement, you will still need 10,000 or more Lums. The quickest way to gather this many Lums is to repeatedly keep playing a quick and easy level over and over again. Learn where all 100 Lums are and go to town. Try not to miss any. If you finish the level with all 100 Lums collected, you will get an additional 20 bonus Lums. A good stage to grind these on is Level 9, called Flying Fish Tails. All you need to push is jump, the Lums are easy to collect, and one run takes only 30 seconds. At this pace, you can grind 10,000 Lums in well under one hour. Thanks to VVh1pcr3am for recommending this level!

You can also skip the short grind by purchasing a pack of 20,000 Lums from the in-game store for $2.99. Thanks to littlejay for pointing this out.
