1. Go to settings and turn on automatic running.
2. Turn on auto-aim to the maximum level.
3. Going through the first location in each of the two acts is the most difficult thing in the game, so take death easier at first. Just study the enemies, their habits, attacks, then before you know it, you’ll get used to it. In the next two biomes, you will retain all your leveling, it will be much easier, but you should not relax, otherwise you will start again from the very first one. Although this is useful for achieving achievements for visiting the house completely (6 times), and getting the secret ending (act 3), it is better to read the description of these trophies. After the first act (1-3 biomes) there will be a save.
4. Try to completely clear all the rooms, this way you will get new artifacts and equipment that may stay with you forever. Although complicated arenas (yellow gates with a star) are better left for the end of the level, when you have already leveled up, as well as revenge for the scouts. When you have cleared everything, you can go to the boss, although after it you can teleport around the level; there is enough backtracking in the game. If you see that you can’t cope with the enemies, go out to the previous, cleared arena, if the doors are not blocked, and go back there. Well, of course, walking on lava, swimming underwater, hanging on a hook, and the like will only be available as you advance and kill bosses.
5. Spend ether only on points of reincarnation (rebirth) 6 pieces, in the future there will be an artifact that gives a bonus to protection for having ether, the more pieces, the greater the percentage of protection. I do not recommend opening chests and cleaning other items for him. Maximum open where the probability of failure is moderate without air. Sometimes there are really not enough keys, I sometimes cleaned them.
6. The game has a clever way to increase HP, when you find or buy an artifact that gives an increase in the strength of the spacesuit, for attaching/detaching parasites, you can collect them all after clearing the level, then remove them in a special machine - it appears on the first or second level, after victory over the boss, then randomly. This way you can quickly gain a maximum of 300% HP.
7. There are very useful artifacts: an astronaut - revives after death, there is the same parasite, but a compartment with two malfunctions. Vampirism - increases HP by increasing adrenaline levels. An artifact that restores HP when it is low, increasing defense and damage, with the same symptoms. Well, always try to spend money on improving HP, damage, and defense. Also a very good thing is an increase in damage; at 30% of the enemy’s HP, they simply explode.
8. For guns in the first act, I would advise using a carbine (1 biome) and a void machine gun (2-3 biomes). Taking a laser (empty beam) and an electric beam (energy flow) from alternative fire hits bosses very powerfully, and most importantly, not just once, but for a long time. I even like electricity more than laser, although the latter was praised more here. But the damage in both cases is colossal. In the second act, it will be possible to upgrade alternative fire to the second level and weapon bonuses, well, depending on your luck. In the fourth biome, at first I ran with a machine gun, but then a good energy barrier cannon will appear. She is very good against normal and average mobs, because... you can shoot and hide, and the damage will drop on its own, or you can place protective threads near you and the enemies will bump into them themselves. The weapon is good for mobs, and not for bosses and mini-bosses, but moving on a hook will help you until the alternative fire is restored, you can do it with this gun. At the end of the fourth biome, a carbine with leeches fell out (recovery of HP when hitting an enemy), coupled with adrenaline vampirism you become practically invulnerable. Of course, I sometimes picked up other guns, higher up the level, all sorts of rot spitters, rocket launchers, boomerang shells, etc. But given the high complexity, I almost always returned to the main three guns: a carbine, a void bomber and an energy barrier. There is no time for mistakes and running-in, so I used reliable ones. Although I think you can pass with the rest if you have sufficient qualifications. If you, like me, go at a rush and don’t die after the first biome until the end of the act, then the skill level of the guns will always be at the maximum by the last biome and it will become an easy walk. The main thing is to survive the first bomb of each act.
9. In the game you can farm oboliths in the fourth biome. As we already wrote above, you need to reach the end of the level, when you need to go up to the boss and at the bottom of the arena chop with a sword the roots (branches) sticking out of the ground, in other words, the stems. They are not big and always go in such an arc, three at a time. You clear the first floor, I also went up one, and chop them down. Then you teleport to such a tomb, where one of the two keys to the gate lay, such a dark, rectangular room, and there you also chop branches around the perimeter. Then back to the arena in front of the boss. Those. While you clear one arena, they grow anew in another. In an hour and a half, I bought all the remaining artifacts on the level, and left 2000 oboliths for the fifth biome. If you map out the optimal, fastest route along these branches, then in one go you can cut down 70-130 oboliths in 2 minutes. Also, sometimes large, round plant balls give oboliths and parasites, so always, when running through the levels, cut down both the branches and these balls. In the sixth biome, at the start, do not rush to immediately kill the large octopus, from whose teleport jellyfish endlessly fly out. It’s better to immediately improve your qualifications to level 30 on jellyfish and then you will get good guns throughout the entire level.
Upd: Over time, I came to the conclusion that the rotspit is one of the best weapons. Rot removes the enemy’s HP much faster than the energy barrier and you can also hide, it automatically removes HP. Yes, and small mobs like jellyfish and flying drones only need one shot, unlike the energy barrier. But here you need to decide on your tactics, if you like shelters, then you can’t think of a better weapon, and with a machine gun or carbine you can shoot many opponents on the run. You just need to choose a tactic: speed and damage or cover and accuracy, whichever you like best. Well, it’s true that this weapon is more relevant from the second act, where it is much more powerful 15+.

In general, don't chase the right builds. The best weapon for clearing is Hollowseeker + Portal Beam (1-2) levels on it. If there are also Waves, then you are absolutely in trouble, all the bosses will be happy. The bottom line is that in 4-6 biomes there are robots/jellyfish that have very little HP, there is no point in taking something like rockets to these biomes. This weapon cleans instantly, just like strong mobs (the Portal Beam with auto-targeting and the Waves that the Void spews in the direction of the shot do this for you), while dealing titanic damage.

Unfortunately, all the other weapons and other attachments for the Void seemed weak to me, or I simply did not understand how to assemble them. Please note that the weapon still needs to be upgraded (that is, not the weapon itself, but its parameters. Upgrade the waves and the portal beam.

Having found such a weapon in the 4th biome, even at level 15, you can carry it through the 6th biome with ease without changing it the entire game, but the randomness is built in such a way that, in general, the same exact Void as you have in your hands will fall out at a higher level, the only thing that the levels may change places. For example, portal beam 1 and waves 1 were selected, and now portal beam 2 and waves 1 will be.

If given a choice, it is better to give preference to the portal beam. It damages like hell, plus it hovers on targets.

This is just my opinion, maybe there is a better build.

A little tip that might make your life a little easier that I noticed on the LAST glyph! When you see a triangle on the map, you can rotate the map in projection and see exactly how this triangle is located. If it is a consumable (calibrator, parasite), then it will lie on the ground, and if it is a glyph, then it will seem to hang in the air above the surface on the map. Simply because almost all the glyphs are located on the walls.

Here are my few basic tips:
1. Collect a Build based on - repair from failures, repair from each lvl of adrenaline, repair from murder, an artifact or parasite to restore HP when it is brought to a low level.
2. I advise you to take the Hermit (will appear from the 2nd Biome) as a weapon. In the 5th Biome it reveals its potential by 1000%.
3.Also, be sure to buy an astronaut figurine and increase the maximum strength in fabricators.
4. Spend keys only on doors; if there are any left over, run in front of the boss of the biome and open the locked chests.
5. Try to leave bottles with silphium for the bosses. For example, for the last boss I had 6 small and 4 large flasks. Spent a couple.

Gadget Tips:
1. You will receive a hook for catching yellow glowing ledges at the end of the second biome.
2.A device for walking underwater and a device for walking in bloody slurry in the first half of the 5th biome.
3. Visor for opening phantom platforms for the purpose of jumping onto high ledges in the second half of the 5th biome.
4. You can buy a blade balancer for destroying orange protective fields that close doors with goodies from fabricators or find them in biomes. Spams randomly.

I would advise that after receiving a voidman and an artifact to replenish HP when adrenaline increases, try not to take things with a question mark (more than half of them are useless) and not pick up new types of weapons, as in biomes 4-6, in order to get your pumped up voidman, you will have to open carriages of boxes.

I opened almost everything and in the second half of the game I never got a vampiric artifact, but it makes life much easier

Make a backup of your save before each important trophy (completing acts and clearing locations) and disable auto-loading of the save to the cloud, because when you close the game, the old save will be instantly overwritten.
Trophies may still not drop when finding the last collectible item.

If you have problems killing the 4th or 5th boss, then you can make this easier.
The method is this - first I’ll tell you about the best weapon for me - the best one is the Energy Barrier - I hung up pillboxes and hid (we shoot once for small things, more for large ones, but keep in mind that they can come/teleport to you, so it makes sense to make a grid around you. )
Next is the Acid Bazooka - he hung pillboxes and also hid, plus the reload time is fast.
Next is a rocket launcher with upgraded rapid fire - but you need to target small things. Before you take these guns, a Void Hunter with a portal and an Assault Rifle with leeches and a large caliber look good.
Next, I’ll tell you how to make the passage even easier, this is what helped me at the 70th hour of the game. In the location Ringing Ruins (4th), branches grow on the ground, for the destruction of which they give oboliths, so after you have cleared this location a little, you can jump through the portals and farm oboliths, because if you move away from the room, the BRANCHES GROW AGAIN. It’s good to farm in one of the last rooms with the fabricator (before jumping down to the rooms with the boss), in the room with the house and next to it, ran through 3-4 rooms - teleported back to the room with the fabricator (where there was one of the keys for the 4th boss) etc. In 2 hours I farmed 2000 oboliths + bought everything in the 4th location + cleared the 5th location (but be careful there) and finally reached the 5th boss and killed him on the 1st tray. The main thing is to buy more first aid kits, increase the strength of the spacesuit, and then randomly - I got +65% damage, + 50% repairs. Your task with the Energy Protector is to play safely and not get into trouble. Also, collect artifacts according to your mind - for example, I collected alt.fire restoration for -15 seconds, 2nd life is required, but the vampiric did not fall out, but that’s okay. In general, I came to the last with 15 artifacts, a couple of them had to be destroyed along the way in order to take more powerful ones and 2 small first aid kits (in the 5th location they beat me brutally, I spent them all) + there was a bonus for using consumables again.

I tried to devote my first playthrough to studying different guns. I passed it mainly with a carbine, a rapid-fire rocket launcher, and a void launcher with portal beams. I didn’t really understand the energy barrier. And then on the second playthrough I realized! Passed through all biomes with the energy barrier without dying. Gimbal cannon. You can throw projectiles at minibosses even before they appear. A boss has appeared - throw a couple of shells at him, and the boss will be hit by all the shells in an electric chain. It's enough to keep your distance. The final boss flew away for less than a minute in each phase. The alternative modes that work well are electro pulse, void ray, capsule with tentacles, and executioner.

For better randomization of collections, I advise you to turn off the Internet. For example, I couldn’t find a couple of glyphs for 4-5 hours online, but after disconnecting I found them in the first run. (I don’t deny that maybe I was lucky, but after browsing the Internet I can say that this method was not the only one that helped me)

After the patches, the randomness was fixed.
As a result, I already had all the problematic collectables when I finished the secret ending.
I completed the missing items in a day and a half.

If you die and start again, clear the maps so that there is less collecting left after completion.
Audio recordings can be tracked by numbers, but glyphs cannot: they advise taking pictures of rooms with glyphs - this digging through photographs did not help me at all, it was easier to speedrun locations after completing them.

There is a trick with chests containing weapons.
Approach the chest, do not open it. We make a save and upload it to the cloud. Then we go into the game, open the chest, if the weapon doesn’t suit you, then use the save from the cloud and repeat until a weapon that suits you appears! Weapons drop depending on the biome! Different abilities also change with the advent of new weapons! Maybe you want a pistol not with a grenade, but with a void beam!

A lot has changed with patches and some of the tips above are no longer relevant!
Be patient because you will spend a lot of time on xenoglyphs!

In game version 1.003, all trophies may become glitchy. I didn't get a trophy for defeating one of the bosses. All costumes except the standard one are also glitchy.

It became much easier to play after mastering the energy barrier weapon. You shoot, hide, and it finishes off all the enemies, including mini bosses, for you.

Advice for those who are stuck at the first location.
IMPORTANT: Clear the entire location with melee weapons!!! This way you will collect a lot more oboliths and be able to buy the necessary upgrades! You need to prepare as much as possible for the boss battle. Don't be afraid of the difficulty of the game, the first boss is the hardest to kill, it will be easier later.

Recommendations for productively obtaining Platinum.
1) After each run to collect items, turn off the game completely. Online or offline, does not affect the randomness. Do not restart the cycle, but immediately turn off the game and start again.
2) Turn on aim assist, auto run, quick selection, play with headphones, connect the joystick to the wire, turn off flickering, play online + 1 player (in complex biomes), turn on the timer, turn off damage display.
3) Glyphs (red pictures) are displayed on the map as a triangle, and they weigh in the air, 90% are located mainly in ordinary rooms. Try to do 8 laps in an hour.
If you didn't get a trophy for collecting glyphs, complete all the tasks of the biome, for example, go into the yellow closed door of the mini Boss.

If you have difficulties passing any biome (except bosses), I advise you to create a joint cycle and wait for any player to join, it’s easier with two people. True, the enemies are a little more tenacious, but they are easier to overcome than alone. I don’t recommend going through bosses together, as it feels like their HP is twice as high. And if, after completing it together, any story button is not activated, then I advise you to save the cycle and exit to the menu and close the game, returning you will be in a solo cycle in the same place and with an active continuation of the mission (I had this before 6 biome, I couldn’t go through three corridors to collect three keys, the co-op mode helped me get through, but as I had to pick up the diving device, there was no active button to pick it up).

“Broken Wasteland” (winter location). -You need to collect three fragments of the key to get into the underwater area. There, in the locked door there is an upgrade for a suit for walking on lava. The key may be located near the doors, but due to randomness it may not be there. I brought it with me. I advise you to get fragments of the keys to the red door (two of them) - run to the mini boss at the end of the dock, you can do that. And the last one - behind the yellow doors - you will have to fight. For comfort you will need: a figurine and six pieces of ether for the car recovery.

Since I’m pretty bad at games of this genre and have very little experience playing roguelikes and bullethells, I’ll leave a little advice that I would like to get myself at the very beginning of the game.

Most of all, people write that the game is quite simple if you put together the “right build”. Through trial and error, and in the end, by some miracle, I crawled to the 5th biome and the “correct build” was still not found. This is the most difficult biome in the game and it was not easy for me, even when I was head over heels in healing. I was really surprised how people manage to take over the rushing game so quickly, until I went to Google.

So, I’ll formulate the “correct build”: a pumped-up rocket launcher + everything on HP and revives, the rest to taste. Leveling up appears sequentially, that is, first one perk, then two and three, respectively. The usefulness of perks is also increasing. The task is to get your hands on a rapid-fire rocket launcher, preferably with a rebound. Once you take the perks, you will almost always receive it in the future. Exactly from this moment you turn into a biome processing machine.

For clarity, I went over the already completed bosses, with standard machine guns and with a rocket launcher, and no, I didn’t play much better, the game began to play itself.

The rocket launcher appears somewhere in the 3rd biome, so the sooner you take care of this issue, the easier it will be further.

With the new patch and the function to pause the loop, the passage has become easier. Disable automatic save synchronization.
⚡️There is a loophole in the system of one-time saves in Returnal; the saves themselves are one-time saves, they are made in order to pause the race, close the game and go about your business. But it is possible to load into a save after death. You need to select “Pause cycle” in the menu and upload the save to the PS Plus cloud, and after death, close the game and load the save from the PS Plus storage, and you can continue the race from the previous place.

Try not to pause the cycle at the doors to another location. Since at 4 locations (snow), when I resumed the cycle, I ended up with textures and two complete falls ended in freezing and the further start of a new cycle.

For many people, the game breaks all trophies for unknown reasons, especially plot trophies. Be sure to make a copy of your save before running the third boss and before the fifth. All my trophies jammed after the first boss. I had to reinstall the game and erase my saves. Better yet, wait for the patch and don’t start, you’ll save your nerves. You can get more trophies for bosses, but you can’t get story trophies. And make sure you are online at all times - as the game tracks many trophies through your card. Patch 1.003.001.
