How to unlock the Treasure Trove achievement in SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 - Definitive Guide

To begin, I found this video by YT user SereneGamer, who has found the unlock criteria for all the weapons.

All credit for finding this goes to them, as they were the only source I could find on this in my limited searching.

IMPORTANT: Per the main comment from SereneGamer, you must play on Hard difficulty or higher, also, you do not need to earn all four S ranks in a single go. The game remembers your S ranks from previous runs.

I have transcribed the criteria here for people who would rather use a text list, rather than a video:

Odachi (The Great Serpent Slayer)
4 S ranks in Chapter 6 of Nobunaga's Path - The Incident at Honnoji
(Play as Nobunaga, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 2 of Mitsuhide's Path - Joint Struggle with the Uesugi
(Play as Kenshin Uesugi, partner can be anyone)

Blade and Mattock (Heaven's Dread Star)
4 S ranks in Chapter 6 of Mitsuhide's Path - Battle of Yamazaki
(Play as Mitsuhide Akechi, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Reverie Chapter - The Great Unifier
(Play as Oda Nobunaga, partner can be anyone)

Katana (Evil's Demise)
4 S ranks in Chapter 5 of Mistuhide's Path - Final Battle for Kozuki Castle (Mori Army)
(Play as Takakage Kobayakawa, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks on Reverie Chapter - Final Battle for Odani Castle
(Play as Nagamasa Azai, partner can be anyone)

Twin Blade (Heavenly Twin Blade)
4 S ranks in Chapter 5 of Nobunaga's Path - The Nobuyasu Affair
(Play as Ieyasu Tokugawa, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Reverie Chapter - Final Battle for Kazuki Castle
(Play as Shikanosuke Yamanaka, partner can be anyone)

Spear (Demon's Revolt)
4 S ranks in Chapter 5 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle of Tetorigawa
(Play as Katsuie Shibata, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 1 of Mistuhide's Path - Battle of Akechi Castle
(Play as Toshimitsu Saito, partner can be anyone)

Great Spear (Virtuous Wrath)
4 S ranks in Chapter 2 of Nobunaga's Path - The Battle of Ino
(Play as Toshiie Maeda, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 4 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle of Mikataghara

Per Korean B B Q, there is a fixed solution here:
To get the Great Spear (Virtuous Wrath), you actually need to get 4 S-ranks in the Battle of Mikatagahara (Takeda Army) level, NOT the regular Battle of Mikatagahara level.
(Play as Shingen Takeda, partner can be anyone)

Naginata (Sun Goddess)
4 S ranks in Chapter 3 of Nobunaga's Path - Invasion of Suruga
(Play as Sena, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 6 of Mitsuhide's Path - Battle of Yamazaki (Hashiba Army)
(Play as Hideyoshi Hasiba, partner can be anyone)

Sledge (Daikokuten's Mallet)
4 S ranks in Chapter 2 of Nobunaga's Path - Mayhem in Mikawa
(Play as Ieyasu Tokugawa, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Reverie Chapter - Annihilation at Okehazama
(Play as Yoshimoto Imagawa, partner can be anyone)

Gloves (Divine Thunder)
4 S ranks in Chapter 4 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle of Anegawa River
(Play as Mitsuki, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 6 Nobunaga's Path - Conquest of Kai
NOTE - The video lists this as the level The Incident at Honnoji, but it is corrected to Conquest of Kai in the description.
(Play as Yasuke, partner can be anyone)

Bow (Amenohajiyumi)
4 S ranks in Chapter 5 of Mitsuhide's Path - Battle of Kozuki Castle (Mori Army)
(Play as Motonari Mori, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Reverie Chapter - Final Battle for Kanegasaki
(Play as Lady No, partner can be anyone)

Cannon (Sacred Flame Mortar)
4 S ranks in Chapter 5 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle of Kizugawaguchi
(Play as Kazuuji Nakamura, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Reverie Chapter - Match in Eiroku
(Play as Magoichi Saika, partner can be anyone)

Kusarigama (Harbinger of Disaster)
4 S ranks in Chapter 5 of Mitsuhide's Path - Battle of Shigisan Castle (Matsunaga Army)
(Play as Hisahide Matsunaga, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Reverie Chapter - The Iga's Great Uprising
(Play as Sandayu Momochi, partner can be anyone)

Ninja Blade (Gale Slicer)
4 S ranks in Chapter 4 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle of Mikatagahara
(Play as Tadakatsu Honda, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 6 of Nobunaga's Path - Journey through Iga
(Play as Hattori Hanzo, partner can be anyone)

Drum (Sakura Princess)
4 S ranks in Chapter 2 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle to Build Sunomata Castle
(Play as Hideyoshi Hashiba, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 5 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle of Arioka Castle
(Play as Hanbei Takenaka, partner can be anyone)

Talisman (The Moon's Divine Providence)
4 S ranks in Chapter 3 of Nobunaga's PAth - Battle of Kannoji Castle
(Play as Oichi, partner can be anyone)
AND
4 S ranks in Chapter 6 of Nobunaga's Path - Battle of Takamatsu Castle
(Play as Kanbei Kuroda, partner can be anyone)

This is a guide for getting the Treasure Trove trophy. It contains an Overview, a Walkthrough, a section on Battle Rank Conditions, and finally the Rare Weapons listed with all requirements. At the very end I've included Tips. The tips are not for everyone. I've included these only for people interested in how I made acquiring these weapons easier on myself. This guide was created using a machine language translation of information at this site https://jp.samurai-gamers.com/sengokumusou5/ that I reconciled and also my personal experience with getting the trophy.

cn_OOverview

- there are 15 rare weapons, one for each weapon category
- rare weapons cannot be dismantled or upgraded
- you may use co-op if you like
- play these in Free Mode
- must play on Hard or above
- you do not need to actually wield the weapon type that you are going after, the required main general can use any weapon
- not all the game's generals participate. Only the following generals participate: Mitsuhide Akechi, Nagamasa Azai, Hideyoshi Hashiba, Hanzo Hattori, Tadakatsu Honda, Yoshimoto Imagawa, Takakage Kobayakawa, Kanbei Kuroda, Toshiie Maeda, Hisahide Matsunaga, Mitsuki, Sandayu Momochi, Motonari Mori, Kazuuji Nakamura, No, Nobunaga Oda, Oichi, Magoichi Saika, Toshimitsu Saito, Sena, Katsuie Shibata, Shingen Takeda, Hanbei Takenaka, Ieyasu Tokugawa, Kenshin Uesugi, Shikanosuke Yamanaka, Yasuke.

cn_OWalkthrough

- each rare weapon is unlocked by completing two specific battles using two specific main generals, one for each battle
- the generals and the battles required to unlock each weapon are listed below
- the partner can be any other general
- complete both generals' required battle and meet the rank conditions in both battles
- the gold weapon will appear in the end weapon results screen once both battles' ranking conditions have been fulfilled

cn_OBattle Rank Conditions

- Achieve S Rank in every aspect of evaluation (Time, Total Kill, Officer Kill, Total Combo) in both battles. You don't have to achieve this ranking in one go. As an example: Say the first run of the battle results in S,A,S,S,S - shoot to get that A to an S on the next run for a second run overall total of S like this S,S,A,S,S. This will cover the Rank conditions. So if you're missing one S Ranking, you can replay and focus on achieving it. Just make sure that the Final Overall Result is S Rank as well. Once your net sub-rankings from all the overall S ranked runs for that particular battle is S,S,S,S you are good. Move on to the next.

cn_OTips

I start with going over what I did with required generals then finally discuss partners

cn_TRequired Generals

- A list of Required Generals: Mitsuhide Akechi, Nagamasa Azai, Hideyoshi Hashiba, Hanzo Hattori, Tadakatsu Honda, Yoshimoto Imagawa, Takakage Kobayakawa, Kanbei Kuroda, Toshiie Maeda, Hisahide Matsunaga, Mitsuki, Sandayu Momochi, Motonari Mori, Kazuuji Nakamura, No, Nobunaga Oda, Oichi, Magoichi Saika, Toshimitsu Saito, Sena, Katsuie Shibata, Shingen Takeda, Hanbei Takenaka, Ieyasu Tokugawa, Kenshin Uesugi, Shikanosuke Yamanaka, Yasuke
- Level 30 is more than fine for Hard
- Level 30 also unlocks all skills in the skill tree and gives all of them 8 item slots

So to get these generals to 30 I focused on the part they played in these two trophies:

Samurai Warriors 5Hidden TrophyThe Hidden Trophy trophy in Samurai Warriors 5 worth 89 pointsContinue playing to unlock this hidden trophy

Samurai Warriors 5Inseparable BondsThe Inseparable Bonds trophy in Samurai Warriors 5 worth 130 pointsWatch all Character Events.

- make up the difference via Training with stocked EXP

Now on to weapon attachments:

- play the above as often as possible on Normal difficulty. This increases the likelihood of obtaining Silver Weapons with 8 empty slots
- I had better success at getting this type of weapon on Normal than on Hard, so Normal wins in this case.
- Difficulty for Citadel Mode can be changed in the March screen

- I used the following attachments on my Silver Weapons with 8 empty slots:

Basic General
Attack / Increases Attack strength
Vitality / Increases Attack when you have ample Health
Wind / Inflicts unblockable damage
Rampage / Restores a certain amount of health for every 100 K.O.s
Fury / Increases Musou Attack strength
Courage / Increases damage dealt to enemy officers
Momentum / Increases the strength of Hyper Attacks
Dominance* / Increases the damage dealt by Ultimate Skills

Bow or Cannon General
Projectile Attack / Increases damage of Arrows and Guns
Vitality / Increases Attack when you have ample Health
Wind / Inflicts unblockable damage
Rampage / Restores a certain amount of health for every 100 K.O.s
Fury / Increases Musou Attack strength
Courage / Increases damage dealt to enemy officers
Momentum / Increases the strength of Hyper Attacks
Dominance* / Increases the damage dealt by Ultimate Skills

*Dominance is optional. Slot in something else if you do not use Ultimate Skills much.

- The setup makes these Generals very OP

- Items setup:
Cup of Vitality Lv 1, 2, 3 - Sword of Fury Lv 1, 2, 3 - Dango lv 2, 3

cn_TPartners

- a good partner should be able to pull all the S rank weight in most situations.
- bow and cannon can do this
- both can ramp up combo count quickly, kill quickly and easily deal with shield and spear units without putzing around

The higher the level of the partner the better. I used the following trophy to gain levels on my partner:

Samurai Warriors 5Tides of WarThe Tides of War trophy in Samurai Warriors 5 worth 105 pointsObtain the highest rank in all Citadel Mode battles.

The attachment setup was a bit different than on my Required Generals since the focus is go, go, go, kill, kill, kill:

Attack* / Increases Attack strength
Range / Increases weapon's Attack range
Projectile Attack* / Increases damage of Arrows and Guns
Vitality / Increases Attack when you have ample Health
Rampage / Restores a certain amount of health for every 100 K.O.s
Fury / Increases Musou Attack strength
Courage / Increases damage dealt to enemy officers
Momentum / Increases the strength of Hyper Attacks

*someone over at steam did an analysis on combining Attack with Projectile Attack noting the damage increase was there but not double, instead it was 150%

- Items setup:
Cup of Vitality Lv 1, 2, 3 - Sword of Fury Lv 1, 2, 3 - Dango lv 2, 3

There are 15 types of weapons in total. And despite the fact that each hero, having as his own a saber similar to some other hero, has a unique skin for his weapon for his enchantment design, it is the RARE one for each character individually, as in previous parts, that is not selected. This significantly simplifies the process of obtaining weapons. Thus, a rare skin with a golden background on the icon is unique for each type of weapon.
However, this does not mean that you will not have to play not once, but even twice in some cases for different heroes in different battles specific to each of the two.

It is necessary to complete certain missions, for certain generals, so that each parameter is at rank "S" (Time/Officer KO/Enemy KO/Highest Combo Count). It is not necessary to do it at once , if you did not knock out some parameter out of 4, repeat this mission, but focus on the parameter that you did not knock out last time. You can check the statistics of knocked out parameters on the chapter selection screen by clicking on

Important: If you repeat a mission, but focus on a certain parameter, for example, the first time you knocked out combos, kills, officers, but screwed up the time, and the second time you started focusing on time, then it is important to knock out a couple more parameters so that according to the overall results at the end of the mission, I also had an S rank, otherwise the weapon would not be given.
