In exploring the lair where the final boss will be, you will get several almost-ultimate-items. If you plan to do optional side content BEFORE fighting Elysan'darëlle and be the strongest you can be.... progress through the lair until you are granted the teleporter back to main gate so that you collect them. You can then leave the dungeon and go do whatever you want outside without triggering boss fight. It's very obvious, you can't miss the point of no return.
