For this achievement i recomend use the fruits in fruit acts.
I spend my last 15 fruits accumulated aroud the game. If you complete the fruit level with at least 400 rings you got 6000 rings spend this 15 fruits in my case. (Play with tails make more easyer cause he can fly)
Play the initial levels also a good way to get some rings and using the super form to avoid getting hit by enemies.
Its a farming acchieve so be patient, Good Luck!

A quick way to grind this out if you still don't have it after you've obtained all the other trophies is to just play Golden Capital Act 1. Take the upper path from the start to find a magnet shield almost immediately. Quickly collect 50 rings and turn into Super Sonic and just run through the stage with the magnet shield still active and collect all the rings you can get along the way.
The Piggy Bank miniboss will steal all your rings, but just use your Avatar Emerald Power to summon hundreds of Sonics to quickly kill it then collect all the rings it drops when it explodes. I ended up having 997 rings at the end of my first run. Reaching 10,000 rings won't take very long if you run this multiple times.

You could go to Golden Capital Act 1. There are several magnet boxes around, limitless places where you can get oodles of rings, couple of shields just in case (and if you have Super form unlocked, it's not even a problem), and even though the Piggy Bank boss will take your rings away, simply activate the Avatar emerald power (Blue one, bottom radial) and just jump over and over, and the clones will beat the boss for you. You'll get all your rings back and then some. And if you still have your magnet shield, the framerate will literally clog bringing them all to you.
With enough playthroughs, you can get up to 1,000 rings per run. Anywhere from 3-1 hours, depending on how far you've gone with the game.
