Just plug a 2nd controller, and choose any characters at the start.

If you are playing alone, it doesn't matter if the 2nd player is alive or dead at the end of the level for the achievement to pop

Need two controllers, when in the character select screen, turn on the second controller and choose any character. Play the very first level and simply advance through the level. You don't need to move the second character, just use your main controller to advance through the level and you don't even have to touch your second controller. Doesn't matter if you die, achievement will still pop when you finish the level.
