How to unlock the ULTRAWARRIOR achievement in Steredenn: Binary Stars - Definitive Guide

Update: In an update, more ship designs were added, along with a special ability. According to ParticleDuality, using a different ship and the special ability will still allow you to earn the achievement. The only restriction seems to be picking up weapons during the run.

So with a game like Steredenn, it's hard to create a straight-forward guide for these achievements because you'll never know what you are going to get. However, for the Blaster only clear, at least it takes out the gun randomness. Step 1, never pick-up a weapon.

For the Perks you can get, I found prioritizing Defensive Perks was better then Offensive. Here is my Priority List:

1. +2 Health; Gives you another couple HP which amounts to usually one more enemy shot you can take. Keeps stacking!
2. Build a Shield When not Firing; When the Shield breaks, it removes enemy bullets around you, nice if you need some breathing room during a bullet-hell section. Also having the Shield on the way to the boss helps keep your HP higher. Charge it when you can, it can save your life.
3. Autocannon; The one offensive upgrade that I have higher on the list. It does so well at helping you take out enemies, that it's worth having. Does not invalidate the achievement.
4. Absorb Lasers Temporarily; Helps you get through laser maze sections, and can save you from a shot from the Mothership. Recharges very quickly which is nice.
5. Reflect Damages When Hit; Getting hit is going to happen, that is Steredenn. However, make it hurt. This does the same damage you take to enemies in a larger area (either around you or around the one who fired the shot, not sure). Very nice for minimizing taking damage in quick succession.
6. +50% Drop & +15% Damage; Drop isn't important, 15% Damage is nice.
7. Weapons Deal +10% Damages; %10 is still %10.

Practice the bosses in the Arena. If you can beat them in the Arena with the Blaster and no Perks, you should be in good shape to beat them during a run.

Toughest boss on a Blaster-only run (IMO) is the Carrier, focus the Fighters and you should be able to bring him down. Also, if the Autocannon drops from the Cruiser, take it. It really helps against the Fighters and breaking the barriers.

This is mostly my opinion, not the only way to accomplish this achievement. This is what I found useful, so I hope it helps you as well. Good Luck.

Great solution. Thought the same thing about the Carrier being the most troubling. Some things that helped me:

-Doing the loops made me a lot better. The bullets are faster so on my blaster run they actually looked slower as a result
-The shield is nice, but I finally realized it increases your hitbox size. I wasn't firing as much since I was trying to continually raise a shield that goes down as soon as it's active

Very true that the shield increases your hitbox size. I would charge the shield when a tough section of a boss fight was coming, then use the discharge of it to clear myself a path. Congratulations on your achievement.

The carrier boss is the only problem for me and I hate it. I've beaten the mothership multiple times in arena with just the blaster, but if i don't get the right set up in my run before the carrier then I just lose. I hate that boss.

This achievement is just pure designed plus the last phase attack of the boss before the mothership has to be the dumbest attack in history of gaming Lo l

Does the ship choice matter at all? Oh and also the special ability tied to the B button? Wanted to use the 2nd ship with more health and homing missile special ability (B button) if it still will pop the achieve.

That's an excellent question Fatal Blade. When I first did this achievement (nearly two years ago...wow), there was only a single choice in ship. I don't believe it had the melee attack that it has now.

If I had to guess, I would say that the achievement is tied to only the different weapons that you can pick up. Other ship choices and special attack shouldn't matter, but I do not know for sure. If you do earn the achievement with a different ship and/or with the special ability, let me know and I'll update the solution for any future readers.

I can testify to what ParticleDuality shared. I used the Fortress ship and was able to unlock this one with it.
In particular, I made excessive use of the Fortress ship's special ability as well and it did not void the achievement. As long as you don't pick up any weapons mid-stage, you should be good to go.

Incase anyone was worried, medkits do NOT count as a weapon even though its dropped/picked up in the same way

Just wanted to pop in and say that this game definitely has a memory leak - if you just leave it running in a run for like an hour, it will start to slow down more and more. Somewhere between hours like 2-4 is a nice amount of lag and slow down that's still very playable, but makes reacting and dodging way easier.

Highly recommend using the Specialist ship that uses bots. That mixed with the passive shield, and I just got it on my first try. Got a little lucky on The Mothership, but it worked like a charm. Can confirm that you can use the other ships, as long as you don't pick up a weapon.

I can confirm that the other ships and their starting weapons can get you this achievement.

I got the achievement with the fortress as well, and used all defensive drops minus the shield. I used evolved heavy weapons and more rockets, which helped take down bosses slightly quicker, and saved my ass more than once during the levels.
