Flips are easy to do - as you gather speed (use 
to boost if needed), move 
forward and the car will flip towards the front, doing a front flip. As your car has momentum, even when you don't do well and end on your roof, your car is likely to pick itself up to count as a successful flip.
Keep redoing this and all five achievements in this DLC will be unlocked. Can be done repeatedly on the first level. It's ok to run out of fuel and fail the level.
For reference, I was able to do about 15 flips in one level after I discovered the above trick.
Point to note: the achievement only unlocks at the end of the level, so after you fail, make sure to wait until the statistics screen appears to make the flips count.
