This is a cumulative achievement, so very straight forward.
Distance driven in meters is the first figured displayed in your results at the end of the level. Even without tyre and fuel upgrades it is possible to get a couple of 100 metres in level 1, so it’s just a matter to keep replaying. With all the upgrades and flooring both accelerate
and Nitro boost 
you can easily get a 1000 metres in the first level.
However by the time you have earned enough coins/points to have fully upgraded the first vehicle (Redneck pick-up truck) this will probably have unlocked for you anyway.
