You will get this if you put up good scores time after time. What i did was play as an Attacking Midfielder. Score 2 goals. make some FORWARD passes, make some tackles and just held the ball when i got to a 9 rating.

This one will come over the course of your campaign.
Start a "Captain your Country" campaign in the Main Menu and either create or import a Virtual Pro (your virtual representation in this game). The game will ask you if you want to use a Virtual Pro as soon as you start your Captain your Country campaign.
You usually score in the range of 8.5+ as long as you score two goals. Scoring a hat-trick almost guarantees a 9.5+ rating. Keep these ratings high, and you'd be able to see your ranking (check the "Ranking" option on the main web page) soar. Once you get into the first team ("First XI") and play a game, "First Team Selection" should unlock.
Soon, you'll be made captain as long as you keep up the good work. Note that this usually happens in a B International, and will not unlock "The Captain". If you impress in this game, however, you should become captain in a full international, and the achievement will unlock.
Eventually, when you play well enough, you'll become Rank #1 in your team. Play the next game now to unlock "Manager's First Choice".
The most important criteria for a good rating are:
- Scoring goals
- Providing assists
- Staying at your position (use the markers shown when you're too far away from your position as guidelines)
- Successful tackles
