When I unlocked it this was literally the first thing I did after getting back to the treehouse with the blob

This will not pop for me no matter how many times or where I hug the little bastard. Is there something I am missing?

Should be your first possible trophy in game, when you make your way through opening area and finally reach the crash site where blob is, all you have to do is hug him five times which is done with the up directional button on the D-pad. Do this five times an it should unlock I believe they hug when they meet but doesn't count.

This can be done at any point in the game. When you are standing next to the blob, press to hug the blob. Just do that five times and this simple trophy will unlock.
