ACA NEOGEO LAST RESORT

I am not very good at these types of games and for my first try, whilst I changed the settings to 99 lives, at the end of level 2 I was burning through lives really quickly, and getting no real score increase such that I was in danger of not getting this chievo.

Instead I found a really good place to grind it out score wise on level 1.

Play on as normal until you get to the tank, and kill yourself as soon as you see it. You will now respawn at the start of my recommended boost point. Kill the easy enemies for the power ball and speed boost.

Now go down to the bottom left and make sure your turret is firing straight up. This will kill the 4 enemies that spawn above and you can then just move up to shoot the other 4 as they move toward you. When this is done go back down into the bottom left corner and repeat the process for the next 3 spawn waves.

Now come the large ships that move up and down. Stay at the back and shoot them moving up and down so you can constantly fire at them and kill them all (I turned rapid fire on in the settings to make this easier).

Now another 4 of these ships will come and kill them as well. Ignore the tank, which at this point should now start moving - and just kill yourself on it.

This section above takes almost 1 minute and will rack you up about 10k in points, and spawn you back at the start above.

As such you can just rinse and repeat another 38-40 times, taking 40 mins to unlock the 400,000 achievement. I still had 57 lives when it unlocked.

For this achievement you can go into settings and change the lives to 99. You will have to complete the game one time and then start a second play through. The second play through puts you back on stage one but you keep your score from the first play through. If you are stuck on any part of the game check out the video below.
