You have to kill an air enemy while flying yourself with the normal machine guns which you can use with the A button. I personally destroyed an helicopter while in a jet online in domination, but this can be done in the campaign too.

Easy to do. Just did it while locked (LB+RB) in a dogfight in campaign mode. Just keep firing with the A button

When you enter DFM, just use your machine gun to destroy an enemy plane, there is a moment in the tutorial where you are shown how to do this, it should pop up then so long as you use the machine gun.
