Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

When an enemy missile is coming from behind you a red and green arrow will appear in the middle of your screen, you need to decelerate until those arrows overlap eachother then a slightly bigger green spinning arrow will show replace and show, this is where you do your little maneuver by pressing LB & RB at the same time just like you'd be entering a dog fight. After the maneuver you will end up right behind the enemy who fired the missile at you in a dog fight for pay back.

It's very simple and also can be done online.

You will get this very easily once you get how it works, as you'll use it almost every mission multiple times.
The key to this is watching your HUD(Heads Up Display--I used the full screen HUD not cockpit or follow-cam) carefully while in combat, looking for all the green to usually flash once red, then you'll see a little green arrow kind of like this ^ pointing upwards in the middle of the screen. A second or two later you'll see a red ^ below that somewhere. That means an enemy has engaged DFM on you, and you can now get ready for your counter maneuver. (On your radar, you'll see an enemy usually jump across the map and suddenly get RIGHT behind you--cheating for aircraft sim lovers, but hey, that's how it works )

Your goal is to slow down, while keeping the BIG red circle away from the little green ^ if you can. The BIG red circle is the enemy's missile lock-on frame like the one you have while using DFM on an enemy. I found the best way to get the red ^ on top of the green one was to fly straight and level, and just pitch the aircraft's nose up then down repeatedly while getting ready to make the counter maneuver. This stupid trick worked wonders with the final boss!

Once you slow down enough, and get the red ^ on top of the green ^, you need to LEVEL OFF your plane, and with the horizon!! This part really confused me until I understood it. Once you have leveled off your plane and the ^ are on top of each other, you should now see a much larger 3D flashing green arrow that kind of looks like a classic paper airplane.

As soon as you see that larger green arrow, press + at the same time, and your plane will do a counter-maneuver. Depending on the direction you are holding the directional thumbstick at the time, your plane will do different counter maneuvers.
