How to unlock the Brutality achievement in Alien Shooter - Definitive Guide

== Brutality ==
** Kill 1,000,000 monsters. **

As the description is saying, you need to kill 1 Million monsters. At first, it sounds kidna insane, but in case IT is not as bad, as it sounds. Unless you aren't fit enough with grinds.

I would advise you, to watch some Series or Movies during this whole grind, because it gets very tedious and boring with the time.
The most annoying part about this Trophy is, that you can't check your progress, there's no way to check your ingame stats.

The Trophy pop up when you hit the very last kill, during a Mission.

How ever, between the PS3 and PS4 are a few differences, thats why you should use this Guide only for the PS4 Versions. The reason is, on PS3 you can semi-idle boost it, while on PS4 Version, the game curshes in around one hour. On PS3 you can idle boost the game up to 11 hours, which is an huge difference. So in case, it is not really worth to use this method, for the PS3 Version. It is totaly not worth, as well it would take aprox +500 hours. Also one hour is not a long period of time, so you can easily miss your timing, the game crushes and kills won't get counted and replay Level 3 and 4 all over again to get, to the infinity spawn spots.

Keep in mind: Kills are get lost when the game freezes and kicks you back to the XBM. Kills are counted when the Level is done! If you quit the Game during a Mission, Kills won't be counted as well.

With the method i'm sharing here, you'll only need 50-60 hours active grinding.
Play the whole campaign (The beginning) on casual difficulty, until the last level (Mission 10 - The Prison). Make sure you'll play as the Female Character, because she has more Speed, Accuracy and make sure you play with Auto Aim (Press Option and turn it on during a Mission). The entire campagin takes round about 1-2 hours. Make sure you'll max up your Adjust Abilities. After clearing a Level, an ingame shop appears before you start the other level. The Adjust Abilities are above on the left side, which are...

ADJUST HEAL, for Maximum Life Points.
ADJUST SPEED, for running faster.
ADJUST ACCURACY, for better aim shots.
ADJUST STRENGTH, to carry more Ammo.

As well make sure you'll have until the End the Red Armor, Rescue Bag, enough Life Ups, Magma Minigun and the Flame Thrower. When i did the campagin for the first time, i could get these Items without any problems. Try not to waste your money on buying any weapons, you should naturally find the weapons you'll need, unless you have more then enough money.

Now to the grind itself; If you have reached the last level, you'll need at first to get familar with it. Because this Level can be confusing at first. In case, you'll need to play and repeat the last Level over 500 times to get your Trophy, since someone calculated you get round about 2000 Kills for each run, which takes aprox 5-7 mins.
For the main time, you'll use the Magma Minigun, especially for smaller enemies. If you only have left the giant hippos with the guns on their back, use the Flame Thrower, it's much more effective for them. Sometimes, if you go around the corners when there are massive enemies on the field, you'll get glitched on top of the game. So you stand on the edge from the wall, if this happen, you'll need to let you kill and restart with a new Life up. You can follow my Video for this, how the grind looks. When you have beaten the Final Mission, you can easily restart from the Main Menu over "Continue" and repeat the last Level all over again.

By doing the campaign on casual you should be able to get following Trophies as well;

Alien Shooter (EU)CyberpunkThe Cyberpunk trophy in Alien Shooter (EU) worth 21 pointsBuy all character improvements, drone and night vision goggles

Alien Shooter (EU)To the TeethThe To the Teeth trophy in Alien Shooter (EU) worth 22 pointsUse all forms of weaponry

Alien Shooter (EU)Two of Every BeastThe Two of Every Beast trophy in Alien Shooter (EU) worth 22 pointsKill at least one monster of every type

Alien Shooter (EU)SurvivorThe Survivor trophy in Alien Shooter (EU) worth 22 pointsComplete the first episode on any difficulty

Alien Shooter (EU)Sole SurvivorThe Sole Survivor trophy in Alien Shooter (EU) worth 177 pointsComplete the first episode without dying once

Since i don't have found out the strat by myself, i would like to give Credit for Leo_the_Lion25, who has shared his method on PSN Profiles. toast

Kills are cumulative throughout your playthroughs

This is the most time consuming trophy in the game. It'll be your last trophy without a doubt. You'll need to kill 1 million monsters in either the Campaign mode's episodes or Survival mode. There is currently no way to see your total kill count number because the developers didn't include a statistic tracking system at all. A chance of a patch happening for this game is also very slim to none.

The things I can recommend you doing are the following:

  1. Replaying through the entire "The Beginning" Campaign episode again on Casual (takes you 30 minutes).
  2. Replaying Survival repeatedly
  3. Replaying the very last mission from "The Beginning" over and over to farm kills. Although, it's unconfirmed if your kills for doing this method will continue adding up and counting towards the million.

Now the very last method is an infinite spawning spot. Took me many hours to discover it, but it'll help you while you're not playing the game. This method is also the fastest way to get this trophy. First of all, I recommend you use the Female character because she kills faster. This method will get you an estimated 35,000 kills a day and with dedication you should get it in about 25-30 days of doing this (1 million / 35,000 = 28 days).

Do the following be sure that you have a rubber band.

  1. Select Casual difficulty, "The Beginning", as the Female character.
  2. Max out her Accuracy stats right away.
  3. Playthrough the missions to the 3rd level, grab the explosive, kill all monsters, and then go near the wall where the monsters are spawning from.
  4. Position yourself to where you're not getting hurt, but can still kill the monsters spawning.
  5. Now wrap a rubber band around the right angle stick of your vita where you're shooting the dual pistols automatically.
  6. Leave your Vita on and running with the PlayStation Vita AC Adaptor plugged into a wall outlet, do this until you have over 120,000 score.
  7. After a few hours (roughly 12) plant the explosive to end the level to keep your kill count from the farming.
  8. In the 4th level, turn the power back on, grab the explosives, and destroy the 1st and 2nd spawning points except the one in the larger room where you'll be farming. Make sure all other monsters are dead except the ones spawning out of the wall.
  9. After killing all monsters, go near the wall where the monsters are spawning from.
  10. Position yourself to where you're not getting hurt, but can still kill the monsters spawning.
  11. Now wrap a rubber band around the right angle stick of your vita where you're shooting the dual pistols automatically.
  12. Leave your Vita on and running with the PlayStation Vita AC Adaptor plugged into a wall outlet, do this until you have over 300,000 score.
  13. After a few hours (roughly 12) plant the explosive to end the level to keep your kill count from the farming.
  14. After finishing 4th level, start level 5 but press and go back to the main menu. At the main menu screen you'll want to restart the campaign over again. Get back to the 3rd and 4th level's farming spots.

With the above method I calculated that you're getting over 35,000+ kills from doing this. This isn't even counting the monsters it takes to get to these farming places. With the 3rd level, for every 1000 points you get that is about 100 kills each. 12 hours here will be about over 120,000 which an estimated 12,000 kills. On the 4th level, for every 1000 points you get that is about 75 kills each. 12 hours at this spot is about over 300,000 which an estimated 22,500 kills. Now add both those together and you're over 34,500+ kills from just leaving your vita system on and running. Now keep in mind that you're killing over about roughly 1,500 or maybe 2,000 monsters to get to these places. Those kills are still being added to your estimated 34,500 kill count, but regardless as you can see you're clearly killing over 35,000 monsters each time you're doing this method. Last thing to note is that your score will be around 420,000+ something (120,000 + 300,000), so when you're on the 4th level just be sure to end it whenever you see that you're over 420,000 because remember you want about 300,000 score added to whatever you have before starting/ending the level.

Every little bit helps, but I highly recommend that you stop after getting the scores I mentioned with these methods and then finish the mission so you get to keep those kills. Not only that, but once to let your vita sit there for that long. There will be a lot of blood and gore everywhere on your vita screen. The game will start hitching and lagging very badly, meaning your frames per a second will take a hit much like later levels. The spawns rating will slow down and once the frames per a second begin slowing down; which is the main reason to stop at after reaching the score.

There are a few things to look out for which is the following:

  • If you close the game during the level, aliens that you have killed in that particular level won’t be counted towards the trophy.
  • If you leave your vita sitting there too long, it can crash/freeze on you, which will make you close the application (kills won't count if this happened).

Below is just an example image on where the infinite farming spots are at in both missions 3 and 4.

1,000,000 kills in this game is extremely high. For one 8-12 hour boost at spawn in Chapter 4, at best, about 15,000-18,000 kills, according to my repeated calculations (1000 points for every 73-75 kills, considering that you boosted 200 000-250,000 points), so you will have to be patient to get the trophy. I got this trophy by leaving the console overnight and periodically playing the "Survival" mode for about 1.5 months.
I wrote to the official website in the technical support section with a request to help me understand the algorithm for counting murders in certain conditions, but they never answered me. I had to verify from personal experience that it was possible to get a trophy. Since I did not know the conditions for the correct counting of murders, I raised several important questions on some incomprehensible points that I proved experimentally or which remained unclear to me:
  • Do kills count for constantly replaying the last chapter? (unknown)
  • Do kills count as not completing a chapter (quitting during the game)? (unknown)
  • Do kills count as not completing a campaign (that is, starting a new campaign instead of not completing an old one)? (unknown)
  • Do kills count as replaying the same campaign over and over on Novice difficulty? (yes, they count)
  • Is it possible to exit to the main menu after completing a chapter in the middle of a campaign for survival or turning off the console? (yes, you can)
  • Does the kill count in campaign and survival mode add up to the total? (yes, the score for the entire game is total)
From the above questions, we can draw the following: to get the trophy, you need to constantly replay the campaign on the “Beginner” difficulty level, passing it strictly to the end, and periodically play the survival mode. If you can answer other questions from personal experience, then this can reduce the time to get 100% in this game (and this trophy in particular), but to be sure, it is better to rely on this method, because it has been tested in practice.

The method consists of simply going through the campaign with a boost in Chapter 4, strictly follow the points and pay attention to the tips:
  1. Start a new game in the "Campaign" - "Invasion Beginning" mode on the "Beginner" difficulty level as a female character (she is considered faster);
    advice: During the game, try to open absolutely all the secret rooms and hidden things.
  2. Before Chapter 4, you must have purchased at least 2 improvements to your character’s accuracy (it increases the targeting of fire, and therefore damage);
  3. In Chapter 4, go to the relay (turn on the light) and run to the left side of the map, where there is an endless spawn of monsters (a photo of this place is attached).
    advice: It is better not to take dynamite with you. There is a chance that you will accidentally forget about it and step on the place where you need to lay it.
  4. Clear the position from monsters in the neighboring rooms so that they do not interfere (the auto-aim can become dull and shoot, for example, at another monster while the second one is gnawing at you), choose a pistol and leave your character to shoot towards the spawn at a distance of several meters from it (as in photo).
    Tip: Be sure to charge the set-top box. The right stick can be clamped with a rubber band or, as I did, supported with copper wire. Don't forget to turn on auto-aim while boosting. It is recommended not to boost more than 300,000 points - due to particles, the console begins to lag terribly, and there is information that this can cause the game to crash with an error, so do not take risks and set it for no more than 12 hours.
  5. After the boost, finish the chapter and complete the campaign to the end.
Repeat the above points over and over again until the trophy appears. It fell out at 8:00 am while I was sleeping.
Many people also recommend boosting in Chapter 3, because... there is also a spawn area there. I did not include it in the method because I consider it a waste of time - the fact is that in Chapter 4 monsters spawn much more abundantly, so it is better to leave the console twice in Chapter 4 for 8 hours than to first leave it for 8 hours in Chapter 3 and then 8 hours on chapter 4.
Another note - after 150,000 - 200,000 points the console begins to lag, and the kill rate decreases. It is more profitable to set the boost in such a way as to squeeze the maximum out of a given time, so if you have the opportunity to replay every time you score 200,000 points, do it, because in total it will be more effective.

Also get kills in survival periodically. True, this mode has an end - the moment when monsters stop appearing and you cannot kill yourself (for this to happen, you need to live until the moment when only blue “bulls” with rocket launchers appear. There will be about 20 of them, and after killing them monsters will stop spawning, because, apparently, the developers did not think that anyone would get to this point). In this case, if you see that blue bosses begin to appear in large numbers instead of ordinary monsters, die. Because if you kill them all, killing yourself by shooting a rocket launcher at the wall will be extremely problematic. Especially if you still have a first aid kit. In this mode, I recommend using only the flamethrower and trying to constantly move.
Here is a screenshot of the boost location.

I beat the game on easy difficulty, then replayed the last level 515 times and got a trophy. Before the start of the campaign, I received a trophy in 15 minutes in survival, but in this mode I did not kill anyone, but stood squeezed between the boxes and the wall, while the enemies killed themselves, points for their kills were counted to me, but did these “suicides” happen? to count towards the trophy - it is not known.

Got the trophy in the middle of the last chapter. I only replayed it 360 times. But as one foreign fellow hunter told me, if you knock out all the other trophies at once, then you have to replay the chapter 500 times. He landed on 489, also in the middle of the chapter.
So I can boldly declare that kills count when replaying only the last chapter
