How to unlock the One Ugly Mother achievement in Aliens vs. Predator - Definitive Guide

All credit for these videos goes to the God that is XCVii007r1

The predator campaign is all about stealth so why not use your stealth to barely do any fighting in a speed run?

Really quite simple if you follow the videos

Great guide. I used it to get the hard playthrough.. was gutted i never started on nightmare as i never got killed once. I was struggling to shoot out the walkway below the final boss and started laying mines at these points..worked out just as good

Im gonna go try Nightmare now.

What I thought would take me a weekend, only took me two short evening sessions thanks to these videos. I would have wasted so much time killing enemies if I hadn't watched these videos.

Holy crap, these videos were the best help ever. I beat the Alien and Predator campaigns on Nightmare in a single sitting. The only part that ever gave me trouble was the Jungle for the Aliens, which just took trial and error for me.

I can confirm you can do the levels in any order as long as they are completed on nightmare. I did the last level first then went back and did the others. This took maybe a half hour to complete. Just follow his runs and you’ll get it no time

This campaign is really pretty easy on Nightmare. The only tips I have is NEVER engage enemies head on unless you are forced to. Once you acquire the disc and spear, you can avoid enemies by killing them from afar. The only real difficult part is the last boss. For the Predalien, remember you can shoot the walkway out from underneath the beast. Doing this will significantly weaken it. When it leaves and shakes the arena, jump back to the starting area and set up 5-7 mines. The creature will jump toward you and set them all off causing significant damage.

I followed the above guides to complete the pred campy and they worked great, however i found that the pyramid was actually the easiest level of all. I begin by sprinting towards the door, then when the aliens cut you off start backpeddling and spearing easy as pie. then just sprint the rest by quickly turning the switches and running towards the datapad room. after the cutscene with the predalien, run in circles laying mines down as you go, then back to the entryway and make a pile of mines, wen he gets there he should be at half health. By the time he shakes the walls for the second time he should be ready to get pwned. Lay down one more pile of mines and drop a gem on em. As long as you dont stop moving this is the easiest level in the whole game accept maybe the tutorial hehe

The Predator is a powerful ultimate machine, capable of easily dealing with both Mariners and Aliens. However, all the fun of playing for him is revealed precisely at the maximum difficulty level. The predator will not survive for long under the fire of assault rifles, because of this, the player, willy-nilly, first scouts the area, sets traps, and then silently deals with his victims. In this way, the game Predator is very similar to its film prototype. Here is a short list of what you can do and what you definitely shouldn’t do:

*Be sure to look around, follow the patrol routes, climbing somewhere higher. You are a hunter, the Mariners will not escape you, there is no need to rush.
*Try to take one mariner away from the general group using a decoy, silently jump behind him and finish him off with a stealth kill, then return to the starting position. Don't try to attack with regular blade attacks, this will make you an easy target.
*I repeat, do not rush. Making a mistake and having to replay the entire level again is no fun.
*Xenomorphs pose a serious threat to the Predator, but this can be solved. As soon as you notice that one of the xenomorphs is trying to attack, place a block. If he makes a weak blow to the block, immediately hit him with your weak blow, this will disorient the enemy. Please note that at the maximum difficulty level, Aliens cannot be knocked down. If the xenomorph swings for a strong blow, immediately remove the block and hit with your weak blow, which will again lead to its disorientation. When the enemy is disoriented, deliver two or three weak blows and move into the block again. Don't try to hit hard!
*When you receive the spear, Aliens will no longer be a threat. Disorient them with a counterattack, as described above, then instead of weak blows, simply spear them at point-blank range. Please also note that even when a group of xenomorphs attacks you, only one of them will attack, they will not attack en masse.
*The Predator will have to fight with Praetorian in the arena. Don't even try to melee attack, run in circles and throw the disc. Sometimes this opponent summons regular xenomorphs, in which case he himself does not attack.
*In the finale, the Predator will have to fight the Predalien. It is most convenient to be on wide platforms located at different ends of the arena (you find yourself on one of them “by default” when control passes to you after the cutscene on the engine). The fight could be very difficult, but in the arena your energy is constantly restored. Just shoot charged plasma balls at the enemy jumping around the islands (auto-aim). If the Predalien does get to you, don't panic. Move to the far wall, hold the block. The opponent will make several weak blows (blocked), then swing for a strong one. Run to the opposite edge of the platform, the shock wave will not reach you or will hit you, but very weakly. Moreover, it will disorient the Predalien, fire a few shots at him. When, somewhere in the middle of the battle, he begins to destroy everything around him, carefully jump over the islands to the opposite platform. If you follow this tactic, the battle is unlikely to last longer than one minute, and you won't really have to jump. If you need first aid kits, there are some on several islands.

And a couple of tips on the arsenal.
*Never use the plasma gun, only to destroy eggs and in the last battle. A couple of shots that the Predator can fire with all its energy are only enough to knock down a Mariner and reveal its location.
*On the contrary, use the disc whenever possible.
*When the spear appears, the need for the disk will disappear. I described above how to use a spear against xenomorphs.
*Mines are an excellent weapon, but at the maximum difficulty level, their explosion only knocks the mariner off his feet. Can only be used to disorient the enemy.
*Facehuggers are also dangerous for the Predator, although he is wearing a mask. You shouldn't wait for them to appear from the eggs; a plasma shot or a disk throw turns the eggs, along with these magical things, into scraps.

To get this trophy quickly, you just need to run and don’t stop.
There is no need to wet anyone (only at the beginning). In the arena, you can use mines and discs against strangers; there is a recharge on the steps.
