Ape Escape 2

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed.

You will face Specter twice, however this trophy is awarded for defeating him in the first battle, which takes place at the end of the Moon Base level. This battle takes place in two stages. In the first, Specter will commandeer a large monkey with cymbals and attack you in a few different ways.

• Launches missiles from his shoulders. Simply run around to avoid them.
• Launches mini cymbal monkey enemies. They can be killed easily with the Stun Club, and they may drop cookies upon death.
• Uses his cymbals to launch two massive plasma beams. All you have to do to avoid these is hold to lay down on the floor. Once the beams go away, press to come back up.
• Attempts to suck you in so it can crush you with its cymbals. Simply use the Dash Hoop to outrun it.

After a few attacks, the cymbal monkey will slouch over for a few seconds, exposing the green button on its torso. Run up to it and hit it, and after a few times, the next stage of the battle will commence.

In the second stage, Specter will control a larger, more powerful robotic monkey with fists instead of cymbals. Again, Specter will utilize a few different attacks here.

• Launches missiles just like before. Simply run around to avoid them.
• Uses a fist to try to crush you. You will see the shadow of where his fist is going to land, so just stay away from it. When he punches the ground, any platforms he hits will also fall away, so make sure you are not standing on them when he hits them.
• Extends an arm to try to grab you. If you see one of his arms moving outward, use your Dash Hoop to run to the other side of the arena to avoid his grab.
• Launches a plasma blast into the center of the arena. This will create a large shockwave, so use your Sky Flyer to avoid it.

After a few attacks, the robot monkey will slouch over. Run up to it and use the Electro Magnet to pull off the chrome shield, exposing the green button. Then use the Stun Club to hit the green button. After doing this a few times, Specter will finally fall and you can use your Monkey Net to capture him, thus ending the fight.
