Traits are unlocked on the end game screen after completing a successful Quick Game scenario, wherein the condition to unlock the trait is met.
The trait Stone-skinned is unlocked by having a pupil take damage from fire, and shares the unlock condition with Paper-skinned. Multiple Minor Vagaries and Major Vagaries, the random events in the game, cause fire including lightning and wildfires. Have a pupil travel to a tile that is currently on fire, and a fire icon will appear to confirm the pupil is taking damage from fire. Travel off the tile to stop taking damage from the fire.
