Traits are unlocked on the end game screen after completing a successful Quick Game scenario, wherein the condition to unlock the trait is met.
The trait Theoretician is unlocked by spending 5000 Knowledge Points in one run. Knowledge Points are earned after every harvest/action when a pupil has reached a Specialization, or can be earned from a friendly caravan or Remains/Sacred Halts. These Knowledge Points are used in the Council to perform various actions, such as cancelling Minor Vagaries, or giving permanent buffs. Spend 5000 points towards these in one run. Traits such as Apprentice (earn +50% Knowledge Points) and Scholar (earn 5 Knowledge Points each turn) can contribute, as well as trade specializations that grant extra Knowledge Points.
