How to unlock the Steal Home achievement in Assassin's Creed II - Definitive Guide

In order to get this achievement you need to complete a 'Race Event' which is denoted by the Checkered Flag icon on the map, go to the thief and press cn_T to speak to them, they will give you a course in the city to run with a do able time limit. Run through the markers on the map in order to the finish line to get this achievement. There will be free-running and jumping over rooftops involved but you should have no problem beating the time. There are various races in each region.

Note: Races are unlocked after the 'Paperboy' mission

Races are first unlocked after the memory ‘Nightcap’ in DNA Sequence 1. You can locate them on your map by pinpointing a icon. There are six Races available to you throughout the game. Completing just one will unlock this achievement.

The first available race in Florence is called ‘Florentine Sprint’. There is a icon near the Palazzo della Signoria, south-southeast of The Duomo. Locate a man glowing white in the northwest corner of the plaza and press to speak with him. He will challenge you to beat his time in a race. Accept the mission and the timer will start. You will have 1:30 to finish the race. Races are a test of your ability to jump and climb on buildings and rooftops. Follow the yellow crosshairs on your mini-map to your destination. If you finish before the time expires, the achievement will unlock.

For this trophy you must beat a thieves record for a course that he has set out. There are a few in every city and they are signified by a checkered flag on your map.
