How to unlock the Star Powered achievement in Band Hero - Definitive Guide

I hated this achievement because no one has this game, no one plays online, I wasn't having any friends over before I had to return it, and my sweetie has no interest in music games, so I had to find a way to do it by myself.

It's really easy if you have four mics and four controllers (which I did after buying Lips). [Edit: 4 heasets will also work, or some combination of heasets and mics -- thanks t4nd4r!] Start a band with four vocalists, all of them set to beginner. Put the controllers in front of you rotated 90 degrees from each other in a circle so that the button groups are all next to each other. You can now either hold the mics in one hand and sing/blow into them, or set them in front of a fan, but the key is to have at least one hand free. The sure fire way is to put them in front of a fan, but you don't necessarily have to -- it'll just require a lot more concentration if you don't.

Now, pick a song that has (1) enough star power phrases at the beginning and (2) at least one band moment. "ABC" is the one I used, although if you're actually singing it may be more difficult. If you're using a fan you don't have to worry at all.

(not all songs work -- for example, "Oh, Pretty Woman" doesn't seem to have band moments and "Happy Together" doesn't have enough star power, from what I can tell)

Now position your hand or hands above the controller buttons so you can hit "a" on all of them at the same time, just wait until you have enough star power built up to launch it, and when you see a "band moment" section (there are flames under the vocal track), and launch all four star powers in the middle of that section.

(remember that you need to have maintained a 4x multiplier up until this point, which should have been automatic if you were using a fan.)

As long as you have 4x on all players at the moment the band moment ends, you'll have your 11x on the band and the achievement will pop.

Anyways, hope this helps somebody out!

i believe the mic and 3 headsets would work as technically they are all doin the same thing (eg vocals) so i mean as long as they all hit a x4 then starpower+bandmoment, it will work

Did this last night, on ABC, a fan, 3 mics and a headset. Worked an absolute treat, thanks!

This worked perfectly, I used one headset, one wired mic, and two wireless mics on "ABC" -- thumbs up!!

It's a bit of a setup, especially with a fan and wireless mics, but it worked perfectly. You have my thanks!

If you don't have enough regular controllers, the DJ Hero Turntable and Rock Band Keyboard can be used as controllers too.

worked like a charm.. i used ABC and i used the first band moment. instead of having 4 controllers in a circle, I put the controllers next to each other. but have to turn one around so the A button is closer together. Since I had 4 mikes I could use both hands to easily press all A buttons at the same time.

Did this by myself. 3 mics and 1 guitar all on beginner.
But I truly applaud the person that suggested that a RB keyboard works as a normal 360 controller. I only have 3 mics and 2 360 controllers, that was a lifesaver!👍👍

I did this one by myself. Used 2 mics and 2 guitars. Use the fan trick with the two microphones on beginner and strum the guitar parts simultaneously (you only need to strum on beginner).

The hard part is finding a song where there's a band moment in close proximity to some kind of pause (you need enough time to activate SP on both guitars and both controllers before the moment wears out.)

The Fall Out Boy song (Goin' Down?) has a band moment about 3/4 of the way through, followed by only a few strums. Hit that moment and keep your combos, but at the break there's enough time to activate SP on all 4 instruments. You do not need to resume your streak afterward as the achievement should unlock...

Took me 3 times on Sugar, we're goin' down (kept missing my streak just after the flames went up xD) , but it worked like a charm.

This Solution works! Just have to save your starpower towards the end of Sugar We're Goin' Down then hit all the starpower buttons a few seconds before the last band moment (theres two band moment in the song don't hit it on the first band moment save your SP) comes so you can keep a 8x multipler going with the guitars. I couldn't find another mic if I had 3 mics and a guitar it would have been much easier. But this will do since I limit on mics.

works AWESOME! I know you said it's about 3/4 of the way through, but to make it clearer, there are two band moments in this song. After the second one you'll have enough time to activate star power on all the instruments. I used 2 guitars (lead guitar part - not bass) with them on the floor, one microphone and one headset (with a fan for the singing parts). I kept the two controllers on the ground near my two guitars and used Sugar We're Goin' Down with everyone on beginner.

A side note...play the whole song perfect (not that hard really) and before you know it your score is over a million. Without 4 microphones/headsets I didn't think I could get it by myself, but with all 4 parts at 100% on this song it was over 1.1 million.

This one can be a little tricky but to get this one. Start saving up star power in a song. All Band Members MUST hit the band moment and then once its activated (make sure the highway is outlined in orange first!) use your star power and your band multiplier will jump up to 11. Also the band streak cant be broken or else it will go down depending on how many member broke it. All you need is the Multiplier at 11x for less than a second and its yours

*Edit (11-28-09)* - CAN be done with any mix of Instruments

can this be done with an combunation or instruments or does it have to be a "traditional" guitar, bass, drums and mic?

Play a song on Easy in a four player band and have everyone maintain a streak to have a 4x multiplier, save star power until you reach a Band Moment (fiery notes) and activate Star Power then. You will have a 4x multiplier from your streak, 4x multiplier from Star Power and 3x multiplier from Band Moment.

In a 4-player band, have everyone maintain a 4X multiplier. Save star power until you get a band moment. 4 from multiplier, 4 from star power, and 3 from band moment; 4+4+3=11.

You need to get a x11 multiplier.
To do this you need to play with four players. Everyone must have their own personal x4 multiplier, everyone must simultaneously activate “Star Power” and at the same time everyone must get into the “Band Moment” for which you will also receive x3. It's best to activate "Star Power" after "Band Moment" and make sure that no one gets lost!
4+4+3=11.
