How to unlock the Most Valuable Player achievement in Battlefield 3 - Definitive Guide

The achievement really isn't that hard to obtain. You must come in 1st place overall in a ranked match. (Which means, the highest scoring player of both teams combined). For those that are having trouble beating out 23 other players for that top position. I recommend you play Squad Rush as it is a 4 on 4 game mode. Effectively increasing your chances of getting it.

Some recommendations:
Always be in a full squad.
Play as 'Assault' class and be sure to unlock the Defibrillator
Revive team members whenever possible for easy pts.
+100pts Team Member revive
+110pts Squad Member revive
Always throw Medkits in high traffic areas for healing pts
+20pts Team Member heal
+30pts Squad Member heal
If attacking, destroy as many objectives as you can in the match. M-COM stations can be worth up to 600pts each.

Good luck

Doing this in Squad Rush is SO much easier...I got both 1st and 2nd MVP in the first two games I played.

Only thing I would add to this solution (which is in the other guys') is playing as Support and dropping ammo. People always need ammo.

Other things: spot (back button) everything you can, stick with your squad for bonus points, drop mines in high-traffic areas and make liberal use of tanks. Also, on conquest, you can get a lot of easy points by roaming as a pack away from the action. You can sneak up on campers for easy kills and capture abandoned or lightly defended flags for big points.

Don't worry if you don't get this right away. It becomes easier as you unlock better equipment and learn the maps.

Another good tip is to liberally drop mines on vehicle-heavy maps. A good blast can net you vehicle disable, vehicle destroy + kills for hundreds of points. Put them in light debris or palm tree shadows to make them harder to spot. I've earned over 10,000 points in a single conquest round using this strategy.

The mines are particularly good for Rush maps - you've got a good idea where the vehicles are going to come from so just spam the entire area with mines. The explosives specialisation makes this much easier.

Also make sure that if you're the squad leader (you have the star against your name) you designate an objective for the squad. Everytime one of your squad kills an enemy near the designated point you'll get 20 points and in a long game that can really add up.

Yeah I got this as an engineer on Conquest. AT mines are point magnets. 3 or 4 in one concentrated area will get you vehicle disabled, vehicle destroyed, player kill (if theres more than 1 in the tank BONUS) and any other bonus that goes along with the player you killed. plus its fun to leave a patch of mines on the ground walk away and 5 minutes later see a stream of points pop up on your screen.

Have you tried Squad Rush? People who were having problems with it not unlocking, have had success unlocking it in that mode.

Try using the assault or support Classes, since they have immediate health/ammo packs which your squad mates will always need. Once you unlock the defibrilator, it makes this all the easier. Capture points, destroy M-com stations, oh and shoot some bad guys while you're at it. If you're on a vehicle heavy map, using an engineer would of course be a good option also.

EDIT: comment as to what's missing if you are voting negatively, thanks.

The MVP achievements can easily be done on Squad Rush with a friend. Both of you be on the attacking side. When the match starts, you go for the MCOM stations and have your friend cover you. You get 600 points for each MCOM and there are only 2 in Squad Rush. You can get first place pretty easy this way.

For 2nd and 3rd place, have your friend arm the MCOM stations and you cover them. Make sure you cover the MCOM and rack up kills when the other team tries to disarm it.

This is one of several ways to get this achievement. Most of the time, just playing the game and not camping will be enough. I have got MVP several times without trying and had a horrible K/D. If you forget about K/D you will be fine.

Somewhat like littlejay x360a mentioned:
Squad Rush is the way to go, but rather than going into a full lobby, try and go into a complete empty server (adjust the filter so that you will find some). Simply join one of the maps which aren't that popular (but it really doesn't matter where you are joining, just making it easier) with at least one friend. Now all you have to do is to cross your fingers for no enemy joining the server during the whole match.

After joining the server for the first time with 1-2 friends, it will tell you that it is going to start in a few seconds. After this happened, the person who wants to have the MVP ribbon just simply attack the 2 MCOMs to gain the most points and end the round quickly.

For MVP#2 a friend of yours is going to attack the MCOM, and for MVP#3 both friends are attacking one MCOM each, so that you will be on the third place.

This is by far the easiest and fastest way to get the achievements. All you have to do is to be lucky for no one joining, but that shouldn't be the problem. I was doing this with my friend a few days ago and we managed to go for the MVP achievements within 15 minutes...

Hope this helps for those which can't get it on full servers :)

I don't have a solution to this, mainly because this trophy is gained by coming in first in a Multiplayer Ranked Match. I can only give you helpful tips to help boost your overall final Score.

Recommended Match Type:
TDM

Recommended Weapon:
Shotgun

Class:
Recon (Recommended)
Assault
Support

I would honestly recommend this to anyone who still hasn't gotten the trophy. If you decided to try and get this achievement within TDM, then be sure to select any class listed above.

I would highly recommend Recon - just because you get an outrageous number of point from assist using the T-UGS Motion Sensor.

First things first, either within the main menu or the ingame menu select a good close quarter combat shotgun. Using a shot gun will allow you to quickly take down enemies. Extended mags is highly recommended for Shotguns. Next depending on your class, you'll want to make sure you constantly drop your Med Kit (for Assault players), Ammo (for Support players), or T-UGS (for Recon players).

Using the T-UGS helps a lot since you can place it in a crowded area and run away. It'll give you some points each time a teammate of yours gets a kill within its range. For Ammo and Health Pack, players will need to stay over it for a time before you get any points. This is why I recommend using Recon since they just have to be in its range.

If you die, just run out and place it down in a somewhat hidden place and you should be good. Then just run around using your Shotgun to find and kill your targets.

But these are my only tips to helping you get this trophy, hopefully someone will find them useful.

In online Battlefield play, you score points for various actions such as kills, assists, spotting, objectives, etc. Always be active in helping your team play towards the objective in order to score lots of points. To check your current score, press and hold the  to pull up the scoreboard. Play as Assault class, killing enemies and reviving teammates will get you the most points. Also play on Conquest as capturing flags can get you 450 points.

To get these achievements you must finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd out of all players in the match, not just on your team. If you're having issues with these, play in Squad Rush as your chances to get the Ribbons increase greatly as there's only 8 people in Squad Rush as opposed to 24 in Rush or Conquest.
