How to unlock the Platinum! achievement in Bayonetta - Definitive Guide

Can be easily earned while playing on Very Easy. During the game you’ll be forced into battles with enemies. There are more than 10 battles in this game so don’t worry if you don’t get a platinum during a battle. Make sure to constantly attack enemies and execute torture and climax moves. I got this a little over halfway through the game.

Your score at the end of a battle is based on 3 things: score, time and damage. You will earn an overall platinum medal if you achieve at least 2 golds and 1 platinum for the individual categories.
To keep damage to a minimum, try to listen out for audio cues that attacks are coming, rather than watching for them.
To set a good time, use powerful attacks like charged fire Durga bombs, wicked weaves and torture attacks as often as possible.
And to set a good score, use angel arms, spend as much time in witch time as possible, fight enraged opponents (taunt them or use the Gaze of Despair accessory) and try not to let your combo time out by attacking relentlessly.

To earn a Platinum Medal you need good scores in the three Combat Ratings. To earn a high combo shoot with if enemies are too far away and close in while firing the Pistols. You can increase your attack value by taunting enemies with . The down side of that approach is that they are more aggressive and attack faster.

The next rating is the needed time to finish the Verse you are currently in. Note that a Verse only begins with a Battle and usually ends after this fight. Sometimes you have to advance a bit for another fight or use a Huge Key to finish the Verse.

The final rating is the damage taken. No damage taken results in a pure platinum and is something you should aim for. Even if you take 1-3 hits you can get a gold and if the other are pure platinum or platinum you get an overall platinum.

During each chapter is a Verse which only consists of 2-6 Enemies you can easily dispatch. If you have trouble with the game play, just replay the chapter and give it your best in these short Verses. A good example is Chapter 1, Verse 2.

After every Verse (most of them end if you finish a fight) you'll be rewarded a Verse Medal. You have to get 10 Platinum Medals for the Trophy to unlock. Platinum Medals are only the second highest level of Medal, so you should get it by just playing through the game for the first time. Anyway, the key to earn a Platinum Medal is to suffer nearly no damage and achieving a high combo while finishing the fight quickly. Pure Platinum Medals count towards the Trophy as well.
