How to unlock the The Sharpest Tool in the Shed achievement in Blasphemous 2 - Definitive Guide

Welcome to the 4th boss (certainly of my playthrough).

This boss is located way down at the bottom of the map in Beneath Her Sacred Grounds.

I used Ruego Al Alba, with favours for extra damage: The Punished One and The Traitor - nothing fancy here. Rosaries for extra damage negation, Scratched Lead Sphere, Votive Offering of the Miserable - but if you’ve got a build going, just use that.

On your way to the boss room you will be approached by a green robed NPC whom you may have encountered before. Go ahead and accept their help. As I wrote on another guide, I’m not familiar with the full achievement list so this may be part of another quest etc so please comment if you know of any significance.

Once the fight starts March straight up to him and start swinging. He’s going to respond with one of the following.

- spinning attack:
The tell? Sword goes back and under his other arm. Slide under/through past the boss and follow him to punish. Beware he can go back and forth a few times, so be ready once he's finished to get in close and punish.

- Spinning attack with projectiles:
The tell? Slow spinning wind up with an audio cue. Pay attention to where the flashes appear, as those are the points along which the projectiles will travel. This can be tricky to avoid. Try to stand in the biggest gap between flashes and be ready to dodge if you messed up. You might be able to block these but I never tried.

- jumping somersault slash, landing with AOE waves either side:
The tell? Sword goes up and over behind head.
Dodge past/through and dodge towards the boss as he lands ideally for maximum punish, sometimes you might need to dodge away if he lands on top of you but get back in close ASAP to punish. You can also just jump over the AOE towards the boss, and then punish.

- forward slash
The tell? Stands up, drags sword over his sharpening stone. Dodge past/through, turn around and punish.

Eventually, once you’ve done enough damage he’ll jump off in to the background and rain spears down on you. Fairly easily avoided by just walking left and right as necessary, or dodging but you’ve got less control.

Then he’ll jump back, and he’ll try to land on top of you so just stand still, and once he’s airborne, slide left or right as desired avoiding his AOE waves upon landing.

The fight continues on largely with the same back and forth. Occasionally he might jump in the air whilst spinning and fire out some spears but he seems to cast them pretty wide, I didn’t need to do much to stay out of the way. He might also to a very high jump up and over you, landing with one of his forward slashes.

The punish windows are pretty generous. I was popping Blood Pact (RB+X) as often as possible, and his health really starts to melt when you’ve got this cranking.

This was one of the easier bosses in my opinion. Mostly because his attacks don't completely decimate your health. Here’s a clip of the last 60 seconds of a particularly scuffed (but successful!) run.

And here's a no damage run (from YT user IvanovishGC) which is a much better example of all the dodges and attacks. Though I'd mention that they don't use any special attacks or anything and IMO if you play super aggressive and make use of the tools at your disposal you can have this fight done much quicker.
