I found this easiest to do while boosting other achievements. I had a buddy set his region to something like Argentina and I did the same so when we searched for ranked matches by region we found each other. Then we just made sure we chose each of the different characters once. We took turns helping with the 1st hit 5 in a row, and 3 ranked wins in a row while we were at it.

I will gladly help anyone who need this achievement...2 options: play online and hope all opponents pick 12 different characters or find a willing partner or friend and tell him/her to pick characters you need to face along the way. Once you check all characters, you will get the achievement. Helps toward number of matches played as well...

This trophy is titled "Ruler of Kagutsuchi" and it's for playing against every character in online versus play. This would be a royal pain against randoms, so it's strongly suggested you find a partner to play with in either ranked or player matches when going for this trophy.

Each player can start at the character of their choosing, it's suggested you go character by character through the wheel in order to make sure nobody is skipped. The trophy should pop on the final character, so if it hasn't unlocked somebody was skipped.

You must play a match online at least once against every character, win or lose. Here is a list of the characters you must play against:
