Using Arakune, unleashed a 70-hit combo.

How to unlock the BEES! achievement in BlazBlue: Continuum Shift - Definitive Guide

The cheap lazy way:

Choose Arakune with Beginner Mode controls on. Then A button (what used to be D attack button) becomes your grab and you can immediately hold down X afterwards to execute your distortion. As soon as the first distortion starts, hold down X until the second one executes.

Worth mentioning that you’ll need to taunt your opponent (RB) to get 100% heat before attempting this.

To get this, you're going to want to do a throw (which with Arakune throws the enemy straight upwards) into two straight f inverse attacks. (236236C). You'll need 100% Heat to do this, so it's even easy to get against AI thanks to the AI Heat Bonus from taunting.

One tip is to put it on beginner, taunt, and then use what is normally the drive button (A on default controls) to do his throw, then hold down LT or RT to trigger his f inverse, and then as it gets near the end, hold it down again to trigger the second, and you should get a 72-hit combo.

Following thru with my comment, I found out that the combo must remain red print while in play (the numbers indicating combo hits must not turn black or blue) in order for the achievement to be legit. Pretty sure that's why i haven't popped. Oh well, heard its alot easier with Ultimate Arakune. Heres to hoping

Should work fine if you follow this guide. Beginner, taunt to 100% heat, a to grab, immediately hold x for first beam, then at the end of the first beam hold x for second beam. The numbers indicating combo do indeed stay red the whole time. The combo is 72 hits exactly. The achievement may only pop if hits exceed 70. I.e. hits > 70 not hits >= 70. Not sure though.

all late on the tab being last mention was 2011 And here I am 2013 rocking this but ah, I followed instructions and performed 2 f inverse attacks consecutively unleashing more than 70 hits in a combo and the achievement did not pop. Thought it was just bad luck but did it twice and no go. so no i'm stumped. anyone else fell into this? any tips? To explain, I was on versus, infinite time, and 2nd controller idle. 100 heat and all.

This trophy is actually quite a bit easier than one might think. When selecting Arakune, press L1 to activate "beginner mode" and play against whomever using a second controller. Once the match starts, build up your heat meter by attacking your second controller or by doing instant blocks. Once you've reached 100 heat, do the following...

Move towards your opponent and tap "X" to initiate a grab. This will launch your opponent in the air. As the grab is happening, hold the square button down. If you've done this correctly, he'll unleash his distortion where he fires upwards racking up many hits. As this distortion is happening, hold square again to unleash a second barrage which should net you your trophy.

The trophy should pop shortly after the combo is performed. This can be done in either Arcade or Versus modes.

To get an easy 70 hit combo, first use the grab with BC/ and then use 236236C/+ x2 and it should give you your 70 hit combo.

Beginner Mode Method: Grab with and then start holding to charge your distortion. The distortion should release right after Arakune's grab finishes and during the first distortion, around the middle of it hold to ready the next one.

When you select Arakune, you activate BEGINNER MODE. Then you dial in a 100% strip for a special move. After that, press the cross, and then hold the square, the upward shot skill is used, it will cause 36 combos, in the middle of its cast, hold the square a second time and it is used again, which brings the combo to 72.
